Tengri (Tengger) is from Inner Mongolia (Chinese territory) and his performance here really conveys his longing for his hometown in Mongolia (his heaven) which has been spoiled and devastated. The song starts with the traditional Mongolian throat singing (some commenters mistook it for vocal fry). Apart from the way Tengri conveys the song's emotion, he also has a unique vocal technique. He has tremendous vocal control, releasing and pulling back to produce the difference in volume and intensity. The Turkish vocal coach, Emre Yucelen, is amazed at the way Tengri sings with very slight opening of his mouth, like when you smile (you can see him doing this quite often in the video), because it is quite different from the way you're taught to open your mouth when you sing. Tengri is really an exceptional composer (he wrote "Heaven"), performer and artist!

After Dimash he is the competitor that touched me the most in all seasons that I watched of The Singer. He is amazing!!! He ranked second, but he surely deserves the first place.

The last part of the song sounds like the running horses and the first part is the mongolian specific singing technique "Humai" which the performer can create two or more sounds at the same time. He also sometimes sings as a ventriloquist. The song is very emotional, he sings all his grief because his Mongolia that in the past was a green land is now a desert.

This guy is phenomenal. I caught a vid of a group of Mongolian singers fr the grasslands called Hanggai I 1/2 been obsessed ever since w/this type of singing. Hua Hua Chenyu ca1st again at the end of this segment. This Mongolian singer came in second. Hua Hua said he was hoping for the Mongolian singer to come in 1st.
