@@DATONEGAMER25 herobrine is a Minecraft creepepasta, its one of the oldest if not the oldest Minecraft creepy pasta. Basically the story goes as this, a player around 2010 was playing on his single player world and spotted something in the distance which looked like Steve but with white eyes which is weird since its a single player world and no one else can join it. The creepy pasta then evolved into making herobrine like anti-Steve and the bad guy in a lot of Minecraft stuff like animations and fanmade lore and Mojang even went along with the creepy pasta by adding "removed herobrine" in every update.
