Anthony Joshua did what an elite pro boxer was supposed to do against an opponent with no pro boxing experience other than a circus fight.

I like your take on this but I have to correct a few mistakes. While the punches were similar, all 3 right hands were different punch selections. The first was a counter straight right down the pipe catching Ngannou square on the nose/mouth area. The second was a right hand turned vicious hook to the side of Ngannou’s head around the temple area which scrambled his brain. It’s testament to Ngannou’s core strength that his legs were not more shaky when he got up but you could see his head/eyes were not clear at all and on another his corner should have pulled him out of the fight. The 3rd was even more impressive than people think because as you said he had been conditioning Ngannou’s mind to expect body attacks and also conditioning Ngannou’s mind to expect AJ to start every attack with a body shot first. So AJ used his outstretched left hand as not only a range finder but also a trick wand as he pretended to be aiming for the body by dipping really low with his legs and stretching out the jab hand causing Francis to parry downwards while AJ threw a looping/arching overhand to night that ended the show. 💪🏾
@cyfar2768
@cyfar2768 Ай бұрын
The first 2 were counter punches created by drawing out Ngannou’s jab and reaction. The 3rd was also a case of drawing out a reaction before delivering an alternative shot. So yes there were solid similarities but different shots

Love the breakdown guys 👍🏻. Not trying to be a dick, but hopefully these MMA fighters will respect boxing more now. They thought because McGregor went a few rounds with an old Mayweather and Ngannou going the distance with a fat out of shape Fury, meant that they could beat boxers. And it gave many MMA fans false confidence. AJ gave Francis and MMA fans a humbling. Keep up the good work guys 👊🏻. Hopefully Francis fights in PFL and has some big fights. He still has a lot to offer, it will be interesting if his chin will ever be the same or his confidence. But it takes balls to fight two of the top 3 best boxers, in your first 2 fights. Big respect to Francis 👊🏻

Francis was barely a MMA fighter, lost to Stipe then won a few months later, never fought Stipe for the trilogy, never fought Jones, never cleaned out the devision, he is here for the circus that is now $old out Boxing and MMA, thats why he is with the middle east promotions now, Boxing bought into it also..... Just punching power was figured out decades ago in both sports, he just avoids fighting, but since it is only about money these days, ok Congratulations Francis, you are outta the ghetto.... Enjoy yourself.

I was a boxing fan before me came around. Mma fighters should be asking the boxers to kickboxing instead of boxing..I think that would be a fair competition to have. Sadly. No boxers have the balls to do this. The Pay thing isn't the reason either. Only the elite of elite in boxing get paid. The rest are making bare minimum. Like not even 5k. Boxing only pays more if you have a title n big name..

Theres nothing wrong with the parry, its how far nganou's parry hand was falling, with a good parry, ur arm shouldnt exceed 90°, nganou was letting his hand go to 180°. His hips go back when he throws punches, and he quite often throws shots with both his heels in the air. He steps in to hard, and he didn't change his defence when he switched stances. Nganou is a awsome freak of nature, hes perfect for ufc, unfortunately hes no better than a average boxer. Good on him for making his money
@robertwilson3866
@robertwilson3866 Ай бұрын
What he's saying is that Francis was always going for the parry or counter. He responded to all of Joshua's feints in that way. So all Joshua had to do was fake another shot to the body - draw Francis into a parry or counter BUT instead go over the top. In a way Ngannou lost as soon as he sat back and gave the initiative to Joshua. He needed to go all out attack

I like big John a ton, but “he threw the same punch 3 times” is very wrong and over simplifying what he did. He set traps for Francis and waited to counter a very lazy and bad jab by Francis. The 3rd right hand was him just loading up because he knew Francis didn’t know how to recognize it or take steam off the punches. Everything landed flush

Interesting part is no one have ever knock out Francis in his entire career in UFC because it’s too cheap. He taking care of himself so well not to get knock out for 600k price tag. His chin are too expensive. It cost 20-25 millions to knock him out...😂😂 Francis 37 years old and he don’t give a F, in just two fight in 5 months pocketing 30-40 millions...😂😂... Big W Francis..👍👍

Everyone hyping up Joshua now, for God sake Joshua set up was as simple as can be against a utter Novice Boxer in Ngannou, Joshua will not be able to land the punches he did on a Pro-Boxer at the highest level, Usyk Schooled Joshua where Usyk made Joshua look like Ngannou, i always said Joshua is the Frank Bruno 2.0 not hating on Joshua but lets be real, Joshua has power but his skill set as a boxer is very limited when up against more highly skilled and cunning Boxers where he has been getting exposed, and when Joshua faced Ngannou a complete Novice he could let his hands go without fearing much in way of getting counter punched. But like always everyone forgetting to think logically and jumping on the "bandwagon" as always. Ngannou has shown even in MMA he is a very clever fighter and a very quick learner and Ngannou needs to take a year out and get rid of his MMA habits like he showed with his Parrying so extremely and moving back which are skillsets ingrained into him for MMA to dodge and parry leg kicks and takedowns.

You’re entitled to your opinion but the truth of the matter is that you’re severely downplaying AJ’s accomplishments. What boxer with limited skills can at 18 years of age step into the gym get gold at the ABA’s silver at the IBA World championships and then score gold at the olympics. Turns pro in just in just 5 years of starting boxing become world champion in 2016 and the fights a veteran in Wladamir Klitschko in just his 19th fight. Beats Whyte, Parker Povetkin beats Ruiz are these not highly skilled boxers? It’s very convenient how AJ is a terrible fighter up until he’s needed to display how great Usyk is. Because apart from AJ who had Usyk beaten to make him the number one *heavyweight* boxer of this generation, Witherspoon? Chisora?
