Yeah, I love the acoustic version better than the official one, more touchy and Floor's singing comes through better which makes it bit more personal too 🙂

It's amazing how much differently her emotion comes through live! Of course this being a minimalistic orchestration changes it too, but still.

Such a beautiful and well written song. Troy is a much better guitarist than I realized. Marco also trained as a classical guitarist and it would be amazing to hear them play together. How does Floor just sit there and sing with all of that emotion and power? What a talent. Loved your reaction video KD. Thank you very much for that beautiful poem and a peek into the depths of your soul. Be well. Peace.

The acoustic version is special, the music really resonates with me. I love Harvest and Shoemaker and the rest is great too, but this one really stands out.

As amazing as Shoemaker and Music are, this is my favourite on the album. I guess it's deeply personal for me... as someone with bipolar disorder, I've been in some very dark places. I lost hope, withdrew from everyone and only wanted it to end. But there were people who cared, who took the time to ask how I was and treat me like someone who mattered. "Burn the rope/dull the blade and dance some more." There's just so much joy and hope in that one little line.

Oh yes, both versions !! Thank you Kelly !! I KNEW the tears would flow... But how can people not be touched by this song and the way they perform it ? This one was at least partially written (at least the second verse) for Floor, how she met her husband, their daughter's birth... So it's a very special one to her

In a comment to another reactor to this musical gift, I said that I remembered when I simply refused to listen to metal because I believed that metal singers just screamed, grunted and growled, so how could they sing? This acoustic rendition of How's the Heart was so unbelievably beautiful. How magnificent is Floor's voice and presentation? I feel almost guilty, and have just emitted a huge guilty sigh here, due to my monumental ignorance. Sorry, but this previous admonition captured my feelings so well after listening to yet another master class performance. Unbelievable.

Well stated. I grew up without listening to metal, but only discovered symphonic metal a year ago. It is complex, melodic, harmonic, and captures poetry in lyrics. Thanks for your comment Gary.

@@KellyDeaconKDzJOY So many of the Nightwish offerings are just that, complex and melodic... etc., as you said, mostly due to the genius composer, the Metal Mozart, Tuomas Holopainen. Then add the other masterful musicians, coupled with the unmatched stage presence and opera worthy vocals of Floor Jansen, and of course, the surprising eerily magnificent voice of, Marko Hietala. Other worldly.

Both versions are great, but the acoustic version is even more emotional than the album version. I just saw today that the new album is #2 in the charts in Canada...woohoo! It's only ranked #101 in the US...you guys gotta step up your game haha! Thanks for the reaction and your beautiful poem as well. Cheers!

Mike, unfortunately Americans have been programmed to listen to whatever crap the music industry machine squeezes out of it's butt. I stopped listening to 95% of American music back in the late 60's when I discovered Progressive music. Progressive is based on Classical music, while Rock & Roll is based on Blues. I love the classical structure, the bass lines of Bach, so I gravitated to European music, where this was occurring and haven't looked back. Unfortunately, the American marketplace is, financially, the most lucrative so their sales have far more influence than they should. Having worked in a record store in my youth, I saw how the machine works and it made me sick. I'm so very happy now that it's struggling, and hopefully it's been dealt a death blow, because the corruption and manipulation is extreme. Those of us who know and adore Nightwish are doing all we can, trust me. I have, personally, turned at least 30 people on to Tuomas, Floor and the brilliant boys, and won't stop doing so. But if you think Americans are going to wise up quickly, I'm sorry to disappoint you. We are musically ignorant. We are cave people listening to genius, wondering where all the curse words are. The Grammys are a complete joke (as are all award shows). It is the industry giving itself awards, so all winners are calculated to maximize income ... win an award and triple sales. It's NOT a meritocracy, it's bean counters using algorithms to calculate if a song or band wins an award, how much more income it will generate. The highest outcome wins. Meanwhile, my heart and ears are in Europe, and specifically in Finland, waiting for the next Nightwish song!

My favorite song from the album. :) When Floor hits those high notes near the end, it never fails to hit me straight to the, well, heart. For some reason, I prefer the full version over the acoustic version, though. The arrangement seems to contribute a lot into the song's emotional power for me.

This song is beautiful, Floor just sounds amazing, and the message is simple, stop up, and ask a no one, how is the heart, ask all you meet actually, and let them in where the fire is warm.. actually Tuomas did include in this song, to celebrate the birth of Floor´s daughter, if you listen again, you know where that is,i bet Floor was emotional, when Tuomas presented this song to her, and furthermore this song links to another NW song. 2015 - Élan "Meet me where the cliff greets the sea" "Free fall awaits the brave" "Write the lyric for the song only you can understand" 2020- How's the Heart "We met where the cliff greets the sea Shared a story, took the leap Rose up rooted, hid a note You know where You`ve been there"

I like both versions. I prefer the full version a little bit though. Because while the acoustic version is very beautiful, and shows off the beautiful voice of Floor, the full version gives us all the layers of the song, especially the chorus that is repeated many times in different ways can only be felt the most obvious is in the full version

Ty good reaction, about the same I had with this song. Album version is good but acustic better because it is more personal. Tuomas wrote the second verse directly to Floor, it is so emotional and you can hear it in Floors voice in acustic just for couple of seconds but with Floors professional take she manages keep it great.

Ville.....you have been on this journey with me from my very first reaction. We all have certain influences and tastes in music. While we may truly enjoy various types of music (lyric, sound, composition, emotion, and the list goes on), we also have our favorites. It is amazing how we are affected and moved by music. Some music has a certain level of uniqueness as well as commonalities. It is shared, and that is beauty to me. Thanks for stopping in again, and I appreciate your openness regarding this album.

@@villealakorkko21 if it doesn't work for you, it's no biggie. I heard a bit of their first album and yea, much darker heavier sound, but they had a dark, dramatic singer and were much younger. It's all great to me, but I admit in the U.S. my choices for rock and metal are really limited, and you really don't hear girls doing this. They get pushed into pop or if they're older and not a stick thin model, probably country
