I wish I could like this more than once. I can't even say I completely blame the reactors, but fans heavily dislike videos where people give any sort of negative opinion of something that they like. You can tell a lot of people have trouble skirting that line of being honest without getting dislike bombed for saying they didn't like a certain part.

this cypher definitely feels the most experimental out of all the ones cam has done so far imo, at least for the pokemon ones (since im most familiar with those). i personally am fine with the beat, however i DO agree that its a bit too hectic. i personally feel most of the verses feel a little samey but its difficult to personalize something like starters all themed the exact same way of water/fire/grass, so i get it. the pokemon are full of personality of their own, but its hard to try and balance 3 at a time and it can get tiring quickly, but none of the verses are necessarily bad. shao dows verse definitely hits the hardest for me, it feels contained and every bar works well. besides that, mat4yos verse was a really damn good one, and hearing ham say The Thing admittedly made me yell even though i did kinda expect it to happen for an alola verse lmao overall i just feel like this one was more experimental than the others, its an acquired taste imo. but i think if cam does another cypher similar to the way this one was, theres still some stuff to improve on.

Now that you pointed out the beat, I can't unhear it now and it'll be bugging me. Since I really focus on the bars and breaking them down then the instrumental. But now that you focused on that and brought it up Shwabadi, I can't let it slide now. Personally though, it was the most hectic with Mat4Yo's verse since he implemented about 3-4 different flows/speeds of rapping and that threw me off with the beat used. For ShueTube's verse, I heard it as that they were aiming for the standard battling track, and same with Shizzy's verse. Then it flipped and mixed well with Pe$o's, Dizzy's, and the latter half of G Yee's verses.

The beat was all right to me. Like I actually was excited when I first heard the beat start. But I can absolutely see how it wasn't for everyone and I do think some of the overlayed instrumentations def sound....busy. I think Mat4yo's strings was the worst offender of this. He was really flowing and the strings just don't match. I also def get what you mean about some of the vocals sounding poorly produced. I actually had that issue with Mega Ran's verse as Gary Oak on the last one. Like his verse is all right but his mic sounds wack af and it really brings the verse down from a C to a D for me. Which sucks because I know Mega Ran's mic doesn't usually sound like that. I do hear that same quality here in Shuetube's and Dizzy's verses.

@@dinghe6948 The thing about music is that its very subjective, so a blanket statement of "stuff that doesn't work in music" doesn't really work. Like, the beat worked for me for the most part, aside from a couple moments, but clearly didnt for him. Also, he doesn't like singers in cyphers, I heavily disagree with that sentiment. I appreciate his honesty with what he does and doesn't like, but just because it doesn't work for him doesn't mean it doesn't work in music. This one seemed to work fine for most listeners based on the feedback it got, and that's really the best you can do with music as it's never going to work for everyone.
