You have to realise too, this was in Rio Brazil. There were over 250,000 people, they couldn’t speak English but they were singing the song and chanting Brian’s name. (That is the guitarist in case you don’t know.). It’s an amazing thing

Detail: in Brazil, Portuguese is spoken, the audience sang in English. Something memorable!

There's some things you should know in light of what you said. When Queen did this concert in front of 300,000, that song was 10 years old and none of the audience spoke English (or very few did). Queen was told not to go to Brazil because it was too dangerous, but they did anyway. They didn't think the audience would even understand them and then the audience sang to them. Imagine how that must have felt. English speaking audiences didn't know the all the words to their songs, but the people in Brazil did. This is an amazing tribute to them. When Freddie says Obrigado, he is saying thank you because he appreciates it so much. If you watch Live Aid, you will see him commanding a stadium audience in England and he literally makes them sing scales and reach and hold notes that will blow your mind. He was a master performer and that voice cannot be compared.

it's really "a must" to listen to Queen at least twice a month to bring positive vibes. NO ONE CAN CONTROL A CROWD LIKE FREDDIE, HE'S VERY MUCH LOVED BY THE WORLD. I'm 19 and I'm sooo in love with Freddie.

It was January 1985, I was 24 years old and I was in the Maracanã stands to the left of the stage. There were 300 thousand people singing all the songs, a sea of ​​people. The synergy was total. This show and the following year's show at Wembley Stadium were considered the biggest and best in Queen's career. Absolutely beautiful. No matter how many times I watch this, it still touches my heart beyond belief. So much love for Freddie and the guys that it's unreal -- and it's still there almost 30 years later. It may have started as a love song from Freddie to a partner, but it really did become *our* (us fans') love song to Freddie.

Roger Taylor-Drummer, Brian May -Guitar said that for years the audience sings their part. And at one concert when less people sung back. Freddie was used to them singing and almost forgot the words when they didn't 😂

Early Queen: Stone Cold Crazy...In the Lap of the Gods....The Seven Seas of Rye - all live! Live Aid 1985 is a must see... Queen was almost always better live as they put a lot of energy & showmanship into their songs. They said if people wanted to just hear their songs, they could stay home & listen to the albums. There are a ton of songs & genres Queen put out & I don’t know of one bad song by them. Deep rabbit hole 🕳🐇🔥🎶👊🏽

Gorgeous! I often think that Queen was and still are a band of wizards! Their music has an eternally medicinal and magical effect on the audience and the soul! Queen was way ahead of their time! Audience participation started in the 70's when Brian wrote "We will rock you" with that exact purpose in mind. Brian May still sings "Love of my Life" solo in honor of Freddie and enthusiastically encourages the crowd to sing along. He'd say "don't be shy" and also encourage everyone to get out their iphone lights reminiscent of back in the day when people held lighters. Near the end, a video of Freddie from Wembley 1986 concert appears on a screen and sings the last part. Often, Brian would be seen wiping away a tear afterword in honor of his friend and brother in arms and probably so touched that people still go nuts for Queen.
