Reaction & Review | V/H/S/2

Tonight, we begin the countdown to episode 300. Fourth place goes to a found footage anthology. Considering that I (for the most part) enjoyed the first "V/H/S", I have hopes that this will be as good. However, I also know that sequels have a habit of not living up to the original, so this one is sort of up in the air.
I guess I will just need to watch it to see if it is any good.

Personally I gotta say I really liked the zombie one. It was funny and I liked how the zombies actually kept their personalities even after they “turned” like how the couple stayed together and how the main character still had somewhat of a conscience. I’d honestly love if a horror movie about zombies was more like this instead of the worn out zombie movies

I understand what you mean regarding zombies. World War Z might have been one of my favorite movies of last year, but that doesn't change the fact that zombie movies are overdone to death, and in a few years zombies will not be fucking awesome anymore. But we have to deal with it unfortunately. There isn't much we can do about hype. And by the way I'm not a fan of found footage movies at all, so I probably will be skipping this one.

Just thought I'd let you know man as a fan of both V/H/S films I did a research for a third. I found an article with all the directors but Barrett and Wingard both said if there's a demand for a third they might do it. But they seemed to only want to do one if they felt the segment ideas and the story were good. I really like how they won't just make any old sort of shit just for a rushed third entry. I'm personally hoping for a third but we'll have to wait and see.

I think a short where zombies are watching a zombie movie would provide an excellent commentary on our obsession with zombies. Though there are two great songs involving zombies ("It's Catching Up" by Nomeansno and "Fight 'em Till You Can't" by Anthrax)

Good review! I prefer the format of" The ABCs of Death" where if you don't like one of the segments it'll be over in 5min so it's not dragging you through the boring shit lol. Keep up the good work.

You and me both on zombies! I'm getting tired of them my complete netflix section of horror is nothing but zombie films! I don't mind horror apocalypse films but I'd like to see something with more of monsters or demons like the third tape. Also the people in the third tape where actually suppose to be ghouls that's what it said on the information.

I thought the Safe Haven part was good especially towards the end, well maybe not where it ended off but the fact that some girl gets pregnant from another guy and goes of getting married to another person. This felt like a lesson to be learned never to take sex very likely. As for the Slumber Party Alien Abduction, I like that one too but alien abductions are also getting a bit overrated. I hated what happened at the end with the dog, that mad me sad :( but still that bit was pretty good. :D

I actually thought the dialogue in the last short was pretty authentic. That's exactly how preteen boys talk, and I'm saying this as someone who was 13 five years ago. Sure it's stupid but when you're a kid, you say stupid shit.

However, I assure you that The Raid 2 is one of the best action films ever made. It does have a rather intriguing plot, tons of action and visceral violence.
