Sohyang's singing is shockingly beautiful. If a person has never heard her sing before it is truly a stop and listen moment, and she easily outperforms Whitney Houston. As Sohyang says, "You must be born with a good voice, but then work very hard to improve it." She almost eats, sleeps and breathes music. Here is what David Foster, who wrote the song and produced it for Whitney, had to say about Sohyang in an interview with South Korean media site _Naver_ on December 10, 2018, only a week after doing eight concerts with her at Tokyo's Blue Note Club. “I wanted to meet her very much, and I am delighted to have collaborated in putting together a concert. Here is how I got to know about Sohyang. Oprah Winfrey introduced me to 'a stunningly amazing singer whose video is a must watch.' I fell in love at once with Sohyang's first video I watched on KZbin, 'I Have Nothing.' It was _thrilling,_ and I searched to listen to most of her other songs as well. I have wanted to meet her for a long time. She is one of the top divas I've come across." David Foster didn't hold back praise. "Her voice is very beautiful and overwhelming, and I found her every performance to be emotionally moving and amazing. Moving forward, I want to collaborate again!" Great reaction. I see that you have Dolly Parton pictures in the background. So Hyang did a cover of I Will Always Love You couple years ago during the Covid lockdown. She pays homage to both Dolly and Whitney in her arrangement of this legendary song. Look for the one shot near the pier. It has 11 million views. Take care.

Hi Erinna. Thanks for another Sohyang video. I am a diehard fan and tend to gush, so I hope you don't mind. Some don't like it but I never say stuff about Sohyang that isn't true. First; "So yong" is pretty close to correct pronunciation. This is my personal favorite of her spectacular stage appearances. You mentioned watching her move as well as sing and it is vital to actually see her perform. If you watch closely, she is at times; glamorous, playful, cute, charming, dramatic, friendly, serious, connected, energetic, and always in control of the arrangement, the musicians, the stage, and the audience. She has an adorable stage presence for this classic. When she tugs up her slinky blue gown and slides across the stage like a Blues Singer from a 50's movie, it is just perfect. By the way, her belt buckle is embossed with the word POWER. Fitting don't you think? Next? Do "Dream" ( Search for the same concert. It is same time, same blue dress - mind-blowing). Cheers.

Erinna, you took the words out of my mouth because I was going to say she directs and produces everything that goes on on stage. She is a perfectionist. That's not to say she isn't kind because she is, but she wants to give the. audience the best possible experience when she performs. I will have to look for and donate for her singing The Sound of Music. It's in Korean and like nothing I've ever heard along with the most famous songs, the Von Trapp children and a wonderful male singer who ends it with Edelweiss, my favorite song. Correction.....So Hyang WAS NOT/ IS NOT motivated by money or fame. She has rejected numerous offers from major record labels. Her goal continues to be to use her voice to bring comfort to people who are experiencing difficult times.
