The National are the most "grows on you" band you will ever come across. When you first start listening to them, you might feel like you kind of like one song. And before you know it, you've got their whole discography on repeat. I think it's to a large extent Aaron Dessner's doing. His work is so meditative. And it seeps into your soul over time. I'm a long-term fan of them and they led me in the back door to being a Taylor stan.

Guys, one interpretation that blew my mind was...the "Read my SENTENCE out loud" could be from the golden notebook and their history, but also it could be a CRIMINAL sentence, which connects with the next line, ..."cause I love this CURSE in our house", like a sentence (something that you can't scape from) that also connects with " Did my love aid and abet you?". I mean, either and anyway *I'm trully shocked with this music* I was waiting for this video since the song came out!! ahahahah Love u all from Brazil

​@@thegirlsathomemy understanding of Aaron's nervousness is that it wasn't that he was nervous that she wouldn't come up with great work. I think he was nervous because they sent her the song to find out if it was something she'd like to work on, and when she hadn't replied in 20 minutes, they worried that she didn't like it. (He also said Taylor was the type to reply super fast and right away, which was probably why he panicked that she was taking some time to reply 😅) Can you imagine the relief and surprise when after 20 minutes, they got her reply and it wasn't just a 'Yes, I like it and would love to work on it!"? When instead they got the whole friggin song with her parts added? 😂😂😂

You two remind me of my daughters reacting. Im sad I havent been able to introduce you to them yet. At least youve probably seen some of our fun pics when I was taking them and Alex on fun little adventures. One of my favorites is my baby birds in the eagles nest at the natuonal eagle center in wabasha. Great place to take kids! Also Minnesota has one of the top ten caverns in the United states and its only like 30 minutes from another cavern.

Boxer is one of the greatest albums ever. Apartment Story, Fake Empire, Guest Room, etc, etc. Suggest any Taylor Swift fans who liked this song to check out the album. High Violet is also an amazing album with songs like Sorrow, Terrible Love and Bloodbuzz Ohio.

To me this song is about two people that have broken up over and over. They keep coming back together hoping each time for a happier ending. They can't let go because they truly love each other. Both feel the other is special and worth fighting for so they keep trying to work it out somehow. It's the same sentiments as in the song With Or Without You by U2. "I can't live, with or without you." It's also similar to Hoax - "don't want no other shade of blue but you. No other sadness in the world would do." Nice analysis. Not about Joe imo
