Thank you for doing this! She's a boss, no? Professional guitarists have been reduced to weeping and burning their guitars after watching her. Legions of us are awaiting her return...

I took some time and counted the number of notes she hits during the 5 minutes and 58.72 seconds of this piece of music; she hits 2,540 notes for an average of 7.08 notes/second. Astounding!! Number is fairly accurate from the video I looked at but doesn't take into account the hammer on's and pull off's she does and the intricacies of the playing style. I am mesmerized every time I watch the video. Love her and, like everyone else, I hope she returns soon or at least let's us know what she is up to these days. She has every right to do as she pleases, of course, but I would like to know what's happening because I'm nosy. :-)

I've seen a few of these "reaction" videos and with Tina S. it seems most of the reviewers aren't really qualified to be critical, and from what I've seen, the reviewers end up with "dropjaw" realizing Tina S is so far beyond what they expected to be critical of................. and far beyond their talents. Not a jab at the reviewers/critiquers, but just something I noticed

For some reason, KZbin has decided to show me Tina S Moonlight Sonata reaction videos this week. ;) So, my educated guess is it's probably 1000 hours for this piece. Left-handed guitars are far more available than they were in the days when Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney (both lefties) were learning. While pieces like this are intimidating, they are learned the same way on the piano as they are on a guitar: phrase by phrase, slower on a metronome, then at a faster pace, then at full speed when you're ready. So it's not something you have to do all at once. When I learned ragtime (on piano), I learned each hand separately, too.

Someone here ought to give some credit to the person who did the job of transcribing this from the original piano music: a guy called Dr Viossy who also does his own version of it on youtube. Search for it; easy. Unfortunately for him, he isn't' 17 years old at the time and hasn't got the nearly 30 million views that Tina S has.
@gottagowork4 жыл бұрын
Michele Vioni. It could be an artistic choice of hers, but my personal view is that his timing is slightly more precise and with a cleaner guitar sound. That's just my personal opinion though. Tina could play the socks of anyone, but there are other talents arising as well.

Does guitar hurt the fingers? Yes, even after playing for years. Finger tips get hardened, but it is the whole hand that hurts. The pain thing is the price we pay for choosing such an expressive instrument. It can be really hard on the hands and cause RSI etc. But you can get in the zone so much enjoying playing that you keep going for a few more hours no matter the pain. It's a bit like jogger's rush I guess. Then you have to stop playing for a few days to let the damage heal. Left handed? I am too but learned right handed. It causes issues with timing et cetera, because the left hand wants to be the boss when the picking hand should be. I can play some stuff like that, but not for several minutes straight like her (more like 30 seconds before it gets too ouch). She had incredible stamina and conditioning to play like that for that long. Being 17 would help too. People say she looks bored. Concentration I think. Backing track? Organized by her tutor that trained her since she was in primary school. I guess that was what the smile and look was about at the end, i.e., "did I do okay?". She did okay. Wow.
@MsKeylas3 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY. To all those haters who criticize of her being emotionless. She is not. She is focused, she is in the zone. and expresses through how she plays. Which is actually true for a lot of Virtuosos, They don't flaunt around, They are IN the zone and are grooving in their own way.

Great reaction to an incredible talent who has put in an amazing amount of work. Speaking of which I'd love you to react to another stunning young talent. Alma Deutscher is a 15 year old classical pianist, violinist and composer who has been compared with Mozart. There loads of utube clips of her from a very age to her sold out concert at Carnegie Hall last November. I'd love you to react to "Sirens Waltz" from her Carnegie Hall concert. . It's hard to believe that I this music was composed by a 14 year old. 😊🏴👍

After that many years of playing I'm sure her hands don't hurt. Her arms are probably completely relaxed. Having the guitar on her left leg puts all the weight there so no effort goes into keeping it in place. It's just propped up so she can put her relaxed hands on it to play. Make no mistake, it took years of pain to get to this level.
