The cake you mentioned is called Licitar. It is colorfully decorated biscuits made of sweet honey dough. "Licitari" or "Licitarska srca" are a traditional symbol of the Croatian capital Zagreb. They are used as an ornamental gift, often given at celebrations of love such as weddings. The tradition of making and giving licitars stretches as far back as the 16th century. In 2010, the tradition of making licitars was inscribed on the UNESCO list of Intangible World Heritage in Europe.
