In the 15- and 16- hundreds we had better public transport that most of Europe. (based on things from Magnus Ladulås, who are way more known for safeguarding womens right to not be r*ped and protect the content of farmers barns from the nobility (Barn =lada, lock = lås, so Magnus Barn-lock) than not taxing nobility.)

The Öresunds bridge is in total 16 km. But one part is bridge, another tunnel and 2 man made islands. The Silver Bible we (Swedes) took as a spoil of war when we attacked Prag in 1648 (end of 30 years war). The heaviest fighting took place at and around the Charles Bridge, were the Swedes were finally stopped. But that didn't stop us from looting the other half of the city. At the Charles Bridge Tower this text can be found: "Rest here, walker, and be happy: you can stop here willing, but unwilling were stopped the Goths (Swedes) and their Vandalic ferocity". Most of the loot was given to the Queen of Sweden Christina. But sadly, she took the best paintings with her to Rome when she abdicated. At her death the paintings were sold, and most of them ended up in the UK. And a lot of the books and paintings burned in Stockholm fires. Some statues and books are still in Swedish possession, like the Codex Gigas and Codex Argenteus. In total we took 472 paintings from Prague.

The funny thing is that the 30 years war hade ended but the swedes outside of Prague did not know this so they tried to invade. The richest part of the city the swedes gained access to but not the whole city. Would love to visit Prague someday by train. It seems to be a beautiful city.

Swedes emigrated from Sweden to the US because the lack of fertile soil, thus resulting in so many people moving from Sweden. Many farmers from the southern territory (Götaland) who couldn’t even survive the winter, had to move.

Hungary has finally said yes so Sweden will be a NATO member very soon. The Nobel peace prize is not awarded in Sweden, but in Norway. Yes both Sweden and Finland are part of Schengen. When Carl Linnæus was knighted, he changed his name to Carl von Linné, using the German von instead of the Swedish af (both mean from). Can't wait for the next part!

We aren't really happy to pay high taxes (depends on what you think is high cause I earn roughly 2k a month and pay around 33% in tax). But we don't mind it because of the benefits of what we get from it.

Tbh would like to see capital ( not own housing) and real high income earners to get taxed properly again something is wrong when capital is taxed roughly 33 percent less than people working so my take shift taxes so that first 200 000 sek is free and then progressively increase taxes over that...and put capital and other income at the same percentages which would also help handle loss of jobs due to AI not entirely but help...

I would actually rather pay *more* taxes so we have funds for the things that has become worse after they started lowering the taxes in the last 20-30 years. (Like schools, hospitals, homes for the elderly, and (more modern) the military.)
@MrGunnar69
@MrGunnar69 4 ай бұрын
No, we are not happy. You might be the one who thinks he pays 33% in tax. The truth is that you pay between 50 and 60% in taxes and get back 20 to 30%. Swedish democracy(along with the rest of the Western world) lives on a population that is incredibly educated, but incredibly ignorant of how Sweden and the world really work.
@HeadGodoftheGodCouncil

@@MrGunnar69 My salary is around 33k before tax, I get out about 22k.. So around 33% in taxes. The problem with you is that you think that income tax isn't marginal.
@MrGunnar69
@MrGunnar69 4 ай бұрын
@@HeadGodoftheGodCouncil No, the problem with you is that you think that the tax you pay to the community (the same word you find in the word communism) and the region is the only tax you pay. You have to add employer fees or as it is called in socialist Sweden, social fees. Then purchase taxes are added. Your ignorance of how Sweden and the world works is why some of us are not happy with paying between 50 and 60% tax. Wasting so much tax money on the education of idiots, instead of lowering taxes, is what will cause the western world to collapse. And of course that those who are educated with tax funds also get to vote.

Hello and thanks for a great channel. regarding your Swedish tax system, we need to make a few different clarifications. When you're young and working in Sweden, paying taxes can feel like a chore. Even as a foreigner, it can be difficult to understand why we have such high taxes. But it requires some explanation. The idea of the Swedish welfare system is that we all contribute to the common good and that we need different parts of the system at different times in our lives, as parents we get help with childcare free school. As a student, we get a free university education. When we get sick, we get help with free healthcare, we pay our own healthcare fee, but the largest part of the cost of healthcare is paid by the state. It is therefore money we have paid by working, paying tax, tax and paying VAT on what we buy. When we get older, we get support and help to cope with old age. So we pay for it for everyone's good. I am now 50 years old and understand the importance of paying taxes and also the joy! my children have free school and university education, I myself have had to seek medical care and I have had to pay a total of around SEK 1,500 in self-care fees for many visits to the health care. Much else in Sweden is also paid for by taxes! One thing that you can think about as a tourist is that if you drive a car on Swedish roads, the roads are paid for with taxes. if you drive in Norway, you pay road tolls, which means that you are also paying to use their roads! in summary, discussing tax and the welfare system is not that simple

The Swedish tax system primarily benefits families consisting of two working adults, just like it also aims at supporting companies wishing to grow, sooner than individuals wishing to get rich quick. It also encourages personal efforts in areas like health and education.

.. Wow.. I watched about two and a half minute of this video.. and.. "Götaland" Svealand" and "Norrland".. right.. WHY do they say.. "Yotttland" when they talk about "götaland"?.. if I would've lived there I would've been pissed off.. fortunately.. I live in "norrland" !("northern land").. so.. I haven't watched this video long enough to even know what it is REALLY about.. but what I want people from other nations to be VERY well aware of is that.. Sweden is quite small IF we are discussing area.. BUT if we are discussing cultures then there are a lot of different cultures that comes from various infuences and different reasons.. so.. There IS some reasons to think that there IS a way to think about SOME things as relating to "swedishness"!... yet.. there are also other things that are up for local deviations. ESPECIALLY when discussing "Norrland". Where I live.. MOST people try to find similarities to use when it comes to "labels" and thedy want.. "Sweden" to be ONE label.. but.. there ARE differences within Sweden. That IS what I want to point out.. that.. Swedishness MAY be a athing, but at the same time.. there are still cultural differences.. and.. from my own PERSSONAL experiences.. I have OFTEN been treated as a completely strange person when I explained that I ACTUALLY prefer to make toast from french bread instead of "Limpa".. because.. "Limpa" has more actual sugar in it.. also.. after toasting it I MAY want to use Orange-marmalade BUT I may also want to put cheese sliices ontop of it.. (OTHER Swedish people that were where I was at the same time acted as if this was RIDICULOUS).. also.. the concept of.. oancajes AND peasout.. well.. that is NOT something I recognize as normalcy, BUT!! because of the general standard of conscription I KNOW that pancakes with peasoup IS the standard on thursdays WHEN you do your service.. so.. nah.. I don't agree that it is a.. "Swedish culture" thing.. but.. I LEARNE about the concept when I was around 16-17 years old AND it relates to something that was IMPOSED because of conscripti9iion.. and so on.. We are a LOT more diverse than MOST people would think.. if anything.. we never ever REALLY cared about "pig latin" YET!! there ia a word DERIVED from using Pug Latin to the word "coffee".. that is.. "fee-co".. fika.. that.. IS fairly swedish.. so.. There is a shitloaod of things to debate about what is or isn't Swedish.. and.. when I say something ISN'T relevant.. a LOT of people will say it IS.. and also.. the other way around. but.. TECHNICALLY.. a "friend" of mine.. that I never REALLY got to know too much, but I knew him from online.. and.. facenbook.. I found out that he lost someone he cared about.. my INITIAL responce was.. I wanted to take him out to the pub for a beer.. my second reply was.. to actually give hem.. "Fikabröd" ("Fika" - coffee using pig latin- "loaf of breat"- but we are USUALLY not talking about an ACTUAL "Bread" but.. something that is.. a bit of a "sweet cake" or a bisquit or whatever.. so.... I DIDN'T know thiw would've hapened BUT I had recently made a "roll" of sorts.. and.. he accepted it.. so.. me wanting to offer him to go out and get drunk was "rejected".. me offering to go out for a "Fika" or at least.. to.. have some.. "coffee-bread".. THAT was accepted. So.. Technically?.. I S#ERIOUSLY think that.. "Swedish Fika" as a KZbin video is SERIOUSLY a good thing to look at IF you want to know Swedish culture.. I said: You want to get drunk with me?.. he said.. nah.. I said.. okay.. whatm about some.. delicious coffee-bread?.. (kaffe-bröd).. and he said that he WAS interested in trying it out.. and then.. I felt like I had offered to try to help AND I gave him something that I recently had made that is about eating something.. and.. he liked it.. I am perfectly happy about what I did.. I can't realy SAVE people from a "loss".. I can only TRY to be there and.. recognize that.. you MAY want to. meet up with other people and talik with them.. so.. whoever he met WHILE eating it. .THAT is what I wanted to.. "portray".. I wanted him to have.. something to offer in a meeting with relatives and aother people.. what they talked about isn't something I can defined.. I just wanted to make it "easier" that a meeting with a discussion to POSSIBLY could happen. So.. .. "Swedish Fika".. as presented by " Go Royal".. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYOslqyqer16nrM That is ALMOST the same as.. I would say.. (IF you assume that I am an alcoholic.. I don't think I am, but.. close enough I MIGHT have been)
