Josh's hair has a purpose. It's because of his album Lost and Found. The black part is his "lost" self and the white part is his "found" self. It's not completely black or completely white bec he's in the process of finding himself, he's not fully lost nor fully found yet. It's a personal album for him. It has his difficult life story and it shows that he's still trying to find himself. So it looks crazy to you, but his hair color means more than just "being trendy".
