Very cool! I'm a big fan of music that pulls in influences from outside the U.S., so this was great. I remember in the late '80s/early '90s that Ofra Haza had some club hits that were great.

Cutting Records was a huge label,it went through to the early 90s.It produced some Electro and Hip Hop classics and then put out House and Freestyle music. They put out some classics of that Genre

Hashim is not just Jerry Calliste it's Aldo Marin too (who co owner of cutting records) ,this track has been been sampled and especially scratched up on literally hundreds of records (on the B side the first track with the vocoder saying "It's Tiiiiime" and there is a bonus beat which starts with the same voice saying "Just Feel It" these two bits have been used on a ridiculous amounts of records as they sound so good when cut up)This an absolute fuckin stone cold classic, Calliste and Aron went on to make a few more classics the best and absolute best of which were a 2nd Hashim classic "We're Rocking The Planets" a moody eerie dramatic piece of electro funk with huge beats,The Imperial Brothers "We Come To Rock" a great funky baseline driven rap track ,the B side Dub if which is a crazy brilliant piece of crazy samples and mad bass lines then High Fidelity Three "B Boys Breakdance" again a masterpiece with huge beats and dramatic moody synths, rap on A side and a better Dub on the B side.No shit these 4 tracks along with Afrika Bambattas Planet Rock and Looking For the Perfect Beatand Newclues's "Jam In It" (not Jam on Revenge which I hate) are the fuckin brilliant pinicles of Hip Hop/Electro music.Al Naayfish is a brilliant beautiful moody piece of Electro Funk which was so massive in its day. It was still being played in the late 80s when House music took over and the rave scene exploded here in the U.k.You would still hear this played and it always went down well
