Angelina is and will be the world's most versatile artist. Also think how young she is, it's easy to forget! I include all the superstars that exist today, but none are close to Angelina's versatility. Think about a 5 year time and then she is not 20 years even! It's one thing to sing a song, but Angelina has 1,000 voices to match what she sings. And I repeat, remember her young age, which we forget easily. I don't know anyone else on the Earth globe who has such versatility. It was good she said no to contract and obligations to AGT. Soon she will become a living legend. There are many great artists that I respect highly, but ask them to sing everything from Jazz, country music, musicals, electronic dance music, pop, and disco. Then I think most artists get into trouble. Angelina sings with an incredible texture and great emotion as she shows in the songs. She does not belt, to show off, but only if the song requires it. She gives to us when she sings, as an artist should do. Looking forward to great musical moments from Angelina.

That's how you dissect a masterpiece.👍 Those runs, those effects the she do, the sliding down of the notes, the great phrasing that she did...it seems like it's all natural to her. It's like a basic instinct when she sings. Creating masterpiece without even trying. It's all a God's gift..she is a God's gift to us all. Thankyou for that wonderful analysis. It's already a long video but still it seems not enough to properly explain how Angelina is doing her thing.

Thanks for your great reaction. I am not a musician but I just know, for what ever reason I am drawn into each song she sings emotionally with a sense that somehow she is singing just to me. I am also totally amazed by some of the lyrics she has incorporated into the songs she has written. Some of these, to me, are so deep and profound, it is incredible that someone her age could be aware of their impact on those of us lucky enough to hear her sing them. At one point in "What is Life" she sings, "maybe life is a memory, we come, we see, we go." As a 75 year old man whose wife of 53 years passed away recently I cannot tell you powerful those words are to me. I want to hear that song over and over again, because it is so meaningful. In "Shield" she recognizes that her family represents security and safety. Then several times she sings, "forgive me for all that I am". I can only guess at what she means by this but I think she is totally aware of the awesome talent that she is blessed with and understands how everyone close to her will be taken out of their "normal" world And forced to accept their place in a world in which her fame will demand so much of her and by extension all of them. It is another example of the humble Angel that we all have come to love.

You really bring true added value to your reactions. Indeed, she (or entourage) succeed in finding very good musicians to accompanying her, as well as for acoustic covers/interpretations as for live/studio recordings/performances, like the group for “I Put Spell On You”. Also, your remarks about lyrics together with back phrasing as well as vocals or pronunciations: Beautiful and unbelievable. A real treat! Thank you.

Thanks for a new beautiful and very detailed reaction with Angelina, Bryden, I love your reactions, with a song that tells so much about her ... this is the life for an 11 year old girl who manages to ask herself these questions and give herself the answers, is normal for any child of that age! The small introductory pieces were very nice She not only does it, but she also writes us a wonderful song in its simplicity, which she fills with her great vocal warmth, leaving us with the hope that she can always live her life with so much awareness. A little curiosity Dylan Meeks accompanied also Grace Vanderwaal in the last show of 2019 😊 This is another one of Angelina's beautiful originals, Oslo, written in the same period and dedicated to his hometown, and upon returning home. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGOrnH6elKijbqs

Thanks for another enthusiastic and insightful reaction! When I heard the studio version of this with the orchestra, my reaction was “wow”. When I heard this version, I almost crumbled… You really are one of the few true pros in this reaction world and it’s amazing how much I learn every time I listen to one of your reactions. Your very fist comment after listening to the full song was on literally one of my favourite phrasings from her entire repertoire. The back-phrasing (thanks for that term!) in “is lifting your hand to the sky” and, as you mentioned, “love on time” literally made me perk up and go “holy blankety blank, this is god-tier brilliant!” (Or something equally hyperbolic). Angelina has an innately terrific sense of timing. She had it at 7-8 years of age (listen to “he wore black and I wore white” in Bang Bang or even just the words “bang bang”). She rarely does the expected with her phrasing but never overdoes it. I love how she combines her rhythmic tricks with the tonal ones, whether it is her slides (e.g. “love on time…”, “and baaaad”, as you pointed out, the mini-slide at the end of “playing beautiful songs” that straddles “beautiFUL songs”) or runs (“…we see, we goOooOoOooo”. (That’s an accurate depiction of her run on “go”, I double checked. :D ) Anyway, it’s like every sound she produces is the stroke of an impressionist masters’ paintbrush. Amazing. I also really appreciate you highlighting Yvan Mendez and (grammy nominated) Dylan Meeks. Along with Egil Clausen in Oslo, these are some pretty amazing musicians who have done a lot to support Angelina.

Another excellent reaction. I think it is quite revealing that musicians of this caliber are attracted to accompany Angelina as she polishes her art. I doubt they would be earning much for it - money wise :-) And at the risk of being howled down, I don't think some of the tracks on her It's Magic album are as good as her other performances of the same song out there. I just think the album was over-produced, or produced by someone not knowing how to get the best out of Angelina.

I have noticed that Angelina often performs better live, in front of an audience. For example her live performance of "It's a Man's World" sounded better, than the album version, even though it wasn't a great recording.

My favorites so far are her ad hoc recordings from home. I agree I don't like the recordings from the album either. Her live performances on youtube are far ahead of that. Not sure if thats because the recordings are lacking or the live performances are so good. Mozarz has a demo mix from one of the forest concerts in christal clear voice quality on KZbin. If the material exists, why they don't do an mp3 album release of that? I'm itching to get my hand on a real top sound quality version of her "Diamonds are girls best friends cover".

That was a very nice reaction & thorough break down, I love it. I have a question, Isn't under singing or over singing the same as back singing? (& doesn't Angie get as low as F2 & here Highs I can't fig that out yet. I think she has a 5+ octave range but sings within a 4 octave. If i'm not mistaken I've hear her do a tremolo style (rare as it is) as well as her awesome vibrato. I do agree her phrasing is out of this world.

Another great review thanks WM. I'd love to hear you review Angelina singing 'Every Time We Say Goodbye' kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYO2emt-orl7gKM Not only is it one of my favourite Angelina performances but I would like to hear your expertise on that song's hidden musical intricacies regarding key changes (i.e. the line 'how strange the change from major to minor). I've read that the whole song is a play on key changes of which I know nothing not being a musician.
@DonaldLancon4 жыл бұрын
When it comes to key changes, "Song for A" is _insane_ . As far as I recall, WM didn't really address the key changes when he reacted to that song. You might need a reacter who has perfect pitch to give you what you're looking for (unless WM can rustle up the sheet music for the song =).
@brucecumming88034 жыл бұрын
@@DonaldLancon Another reviewer talked about Angelina's 'Yellow Brick Road' AGT the C performance having interesting key changes. As you say, you probably need to be a musician with perfect pitch to appreciate it.
@DonaldLancon4 жыл бұрын
@@brucecumming8803 Actually, now that I've seen more of the reaction (had to stop halfway through to go to bed), I think he could probably do it: at 16:27 he talks about a "minor 7th flat 5". He might need to verify (with a keyboard) which key the song starts out in, but then after that maybe only "relative pitch" would be required (which he seems to have? - Umm, Bryden, feel free to jump in here ;).
