Clearly Ahyeon suffered some injury, maybe a knee injury. My thinking is a vocal injury. But in a couple of tik tok videos we took it as just a laugh but it could well be that she was falling over due to a knee injury.

I know exactly why Ahyeon was unable to debut with the group but unfortunately, ethics prevents me from disclosing what I believe is the reason. Besides, it will come out eventually. I will say the statement given by YG, that it is due to health reasons, is accurate. It is nothing life-threatening. Once she has fully recovered she will return.

@Brent-jay Well, whatever is ailing Ahyeon most likely will never be disclosed. There's one reasons I can think of why YG hasn't given any details. She's a minor so perhaps YG is bound by Korean privacy law. Without her family's consent we'll never know.

Whilst this would be a reason for her not debuting, If its something that would heal in time, then why has she not still been going to YG? Surely she could still maintain physical fitness and sharpness by dance practices with the other girls if it was just voice rest she required. Also it was said she was not attending school either.

Ahyeon is no doubt a top performer but not 100% essential to Baby Monster. The talent is just in abundance in each and everyone of them. They can all stand by themselves as solo artists or as duets or as fours or fives or six. But the reality is the stars that launched Baby Monster was actually Pharita and Chiquita. Why? The Thailand Market. Thailand is a mega market for YG ever since Blackpink Lisa and YG wants to keep the momentum gained from the Thai market. Why not Ruka and Asa? The Japanese have their own Jpop groups and that japanese market is a tough nut to crack. Korean market is already saturated with kpop groups so growth there is limited.
