I decided to start with Saiki because I wanted to finish off with Miku, seeing she is the founder and where Band Maid began from. If you haven't already, please go to Ohrenji's page, and show him/her some love by liking and subscribing. Link above! Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Yep ... Miku's was designed to be last as it's a 3-parter which does sort of tie in the band and activities as a whole too.

There is. Particular order they're supposed to be viewed in. Someone will surely step in and correct me if I'm wrong, as it's been a while since I viewed them. But I think the order goes; Saiki, Kanami, Akane, Misa and lastly Miku's 3 parter to wrap it up

Speaking of small venues. I've seen Band-Maid three times live, and each time was in a venue of fewer than 1500 people. Each time I was on the rail less than 5 feet from the stage. I fear I'll never get to see them up close like that again, as they grow more popular. But I have my memories.....

Ohrenje's Band Maid docuseries is incredible and he has even gone back and updated them from the originals. He is a true gift to the Maidiacs and has brought me, and so many more, great joy through these docs and the Band Maid Anime he has been putting out. Anyone who can spare a couple yen/bucks/pounds/euros should consider a small donation for all the time and effort he and his team have put in. You will enjoy the entire series, they really are well done.

Ohrenje is really nice and fine with people reacting to all his great output. He's French and Ohrenje is his nom de plume (he'd understand that phrase!) for his Band-Maid channel. Miku's story is a 3 parter, quite rightly. 'Breaking new gate' is a reference to the opening line of the song whose MV saved the band THRILL.

I enjoyed watching this along with you. Ohrenje and his content have been a gift to the Band Maid world. No small part to Kasper Michaels whose voice brings immediate gravitas to every project. By watching these documentaries, you’ll find more little nuggets that you relate with. I believe its this relatability that makes Band Maid a bit more special than the average musical artist. Band Maid are a bit of Beatles, elements of Rush, a nod to KISS, and a measure of Power Rangers.

I think I'm right in saying that 3 of the 5 members have step parents. Yes- discovering new bands is great. We always see the support bands at shows, which has produced many of our now favourite bands which we got to see in small clubs etc. before they made it big. Saiki went on to play solo piano on one of theirs song at a recent show- joking with the audience- "You thought Kanami was going to play". Kanami often composes their songs on the piano. Great reaction-Thanks.

I'm glad you decided to try out the documentaries. As you go through them you will find that each member has a very distinct and different personality. 2016 was a particularly rough year for Saiki because the band did 101 concerts (or as the band calls them, "Okyu-jis" or servings) in 9 different countries at an average of around 20+ songs per serving, that is bound to take a toll on anybody's voice. That doesn't count the interviews, public appearances, rehearsals and other stuff she was doing at that time. You can call Band Maid a lot of things, but nobody could ever accuse them of being lazy. Please take care and have a great week.

Greatly appreciated that you have decided to do the Ohrenji docs. If I might suggest one thing, it would be that after you finish the last one, that can only be the Miku 3 part doc., you play the "Endless Story" song from their Yokahama concert last November. I think it would be a wonderful way to tie these all up. It is a very emotional moment between the band and their fans. Just a suggestion.

Nicely done. Ohrenje won't mind in the least. Kanami (version 2) next and then have to "put up with" version 1 for the rest (Akane, MISA and Miku (3-parts)) as he hasn't updated those yet - you're quite right in saying there's a hell of a lot of work in there so will take a bit of time - but the version 1s are still an excellent and educational watch. 28:29 - yes you do! "THRILL" is known as the song that saved Band-Maid... unbeknownst to the Band, their Management was on the verge of disbanding them if their next record was not successful... following their instincts, the Maids insisted on releasing Thrill as the lead single vice their management's chosen song from their new album... after initial limited attention, Thrill was featured on a Facebook page introducing Japanese bands to western audiences and quickly amassed over a million views, much to the Bands' amazement... Management took note, and the rest as they say is history

Don't worry Ohrenje is a kind and sharing person, who only wants to share Band-Maid and their story with the world. That seems to be his mission to share Band-Maid and other rock band from Japan with the world. There is a massive amount musical talent there. Japan is the second largest market for music in the world behind the U.S. The ones who stand out are in the saturated market is Band-Maid. There are several emerging bands as well.

Good choice on reacting to the documentaries. You guessed right. Saiki is the first episode. Kanami is the 2nd episode. Akane is the 3rd, followed by MISA. Ends with Miku with 3 episodes. There is a new version and an old version for Saiki and Kanami. Ohrenji is updating the series, but only has completed Episodes 1 and 2. If you ask me, the "old" episode is a good watch too. I knew you'd like this docu. series, for myself, after watching them a few times, it definitely puts the band into a more personal level. IMO You watching these will make the path forward more interesting. Back in the day with my favorite bands I was only caring about when's next album, concert, or if anybody had died. I'm in their fan club at 56 years old, the last time I was in a fan club was when I was in the KISS Army at 10 years old. If you'd had asked me back in early 1984, when I bought Kill 'Em All/Metallica, that 40 years later that one of my most favorite bands would be Band Maid, I would have laughed. Matter of fact, when Metallica's latest, 72 Seasons came out, it only lasted 2 days before I put the Maids back in my car's CD player. Haven't touched 72 Seasons in almost 5 seasons. 😆🤘

Yes, I feel the same way. I have never really worried about what others think of me and of the choices I have made etc, but I do wonder what my old metal friends would think. Would they turn their noses up for me listening to and enjoying bands like Band-Maid and BabyMetal, or would they now mosh along with me in the pit?

Actually if you go back and look closely, MISA was the first one to ditch the apron. She was also the first to wear the Tiny Hat. That ended up going to Akane, who has since retired it. But Saiki & MISA are The Darkness Sisters. And, even as early as their first Music Video, 'Thrill', look at them when wearing the red uniforms. Both their reds are a little darker red than the others. The Darkness Sisters give BAND-MAID their edginess. You should do the others. Miku has a 3 part one.
