Absolutely true. In 2019, the last time they came to Europe, at the first OKYUJI (Paris) I was at MISA's side since MISA was my initial crash in BAND-MAID. At the second OKYUJI, I wanted to stand on Kanami's side, but the security guard said that no phone recordings are allowed (which was crazy, everybody was doing it), so migrated further away from him and ended up in the middle of the hall. But in Hamburg, I was finally at Kanami's side, and it was truly amazing! Being for two hours at a hand's stretch from her... that really changed my life, probably. Just the light which her soul emanates... She is adorable at everything: her guitar playing, her behaviour on stage, her human emotions and her interactions with the fans. We are blessed to live at the same time with BAND-MAID.

Great emotional reaction to the Kanami's documentary. Rightfully so. She's so pure of heart. The message towards the end...about leaving or taking a break...but her band-mates keep her going, also trigger some heart tugging emotions for me. I also remember when Kanami started playing the intro to Daydreaming at Yokohama arena. I was in awe...and was lost in the moment. Not going to lie...shed a few tears listening to that intro...especially finding out it lead into Daydreaming, my favorite song. And looking around me...I wasn't the only one in total awe and shedding a tear. It was surreal as it was so quiet except for that magical sound coming from talented and gifted genius Kanami. BAND-MAID is a miraculous assembly of miraculous members. Kiseki-po, as Miku described it. They are like the fingers of one hand, they move in complete harmony, able to do amazing things precisely because they don't have any personal agendas, but submit to the guiding power of some Higher Force, as it seems. I would say, Kanami is that brain which drives everything-but then she is also one of the five fingers, and her Higher Mind drives even herself as a tool in service to BAND-MAID. It's amazing to see this complete lack of ego. That's a band of five saints, Five Goddesses, you may say.

Sometimes the stillest waters are the deepest. ✨ Even before I learned more about the individual band members, the lovely Kanami had me under her spell and hasn't let me go since. To be precise, it only took her 4 minutes, which is the length of the MV for 'Thrill'.... Actually, my focus was always on the drums, and it was the same for the first few seconds of this music video. But for reasons unknown to me at the time, Kanami fascinated me with her style and her playing. With time and every scrap of information I learned, I realized why. Somehow she is surrounded by an aura that matches my first sentence of this comment. She's a truly remarkable young woman, which as you will find out, is true for each of those ladies. This is probably also on of the biggest reasons why we adore this band and each of them. And yes, that intro to Daydreaming at the end of this video is truly stunning and shows how good she is at letting her guitar speak for her (heart). ❤🔥 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Kanami is that rare genius level songwriter who happens to also play full time lead guitar in a band, and is a workaholic. She could make a living just writing and producing music for anything - animes, shows, other bands - in probably just about any musical genre - but she gives her gifts to her awesome band. The documentary doesn't mention some things, like how Kanami taught Miku how to play the guitar, and has even written entire songs just to train her in guitar techniques ("Don't Be Long"). Imo, it also doesn't emphasize enough how the band has relied upon Kanami alone to create new music (that said, the band is very supportive and protective of Kanami - they are genuinely family to each other). Typical story for the band is back when they were winding down work on their Conqueror album, Kanami considered the work done, but the rest of the band was worried that there were not enough hard sounding songs. So with two weeks left before work needed to be done, they implored Kanami to create a new song with a harder sound. Reluctantly, Kanami plowed through and wrote an additional song before deadline (Dilemma iirc). The band also mentioned that Kanami had been throwing up due to deadline pressures during this time, and I've always thought it was connected to this.

The full realization of Mincho's genius hit me gradually, as the number of Band-Maid songs I had listened to went from 10, 20, 30, 50, 80 + and it seemed like not only was every song seemingly even better than the one before, but even time I listened to the same song I noticed something new and interesting. Most bands would kill for one of their "worst" ones. I'm still noticing things I hadn't heard before on songs I've listened to over 1,000 times. She is just super special. And these docs, I mean wow. @Ohrenje really went above and beyond here - SO good!! Good bands are fun, but great bands hit you hard emotionally - and these ladies are all of that and more.
