Justin wrote this when he was 15. He was in a band called The Last Wish and the subject matter of this song scared the other band members parents. They asked him to leave the band. That day he made the decision never let anyone tell him what he can put in hos songs. He sang it to his mom that evening and was put on paxil the next day

This was the first song Justin wrote that signaled that he had depression. He was only 15 and this song is still so powerful and effects me on such an emotional level.

I can't believe I didn't know about Blue October until I saw him on your channel. I have listened to live performances constantly since the first song. I love the sad songs but I love the happy ones as well. I think about you guys every time I hear a happy song. This song is breaking my heart right now 😪 I am glad to know it gets better for Justin

I LOOOOVE the Blue October rabbit hole yall are going down...from someone who has seen this band live multiple times, listening to them for over 16 years and the fact this band saved my life and helped me through my crippling depression........please keep sharing their music and please keep doing reactions to them!! This is the song that taught him to never let anyone tell you what you can and cannot right about. So many said back in the day said to him that you can't talk about these feelings.
