One of the best campaigns because of how much dedication the devs' had in implementing this genius system to create your own ending. With a combination of quick and tough decisions it falls on you to determine the game's fate. The toughest imo was deciding between killing Harper to keep your cover or try to kill Menendez. Sadly, Farid has to kill Harper in order for him to sacrifice himself to save Karma later on when Salazar betrays everyone. Also depending on what choices you make in the game, Salazar's betrayal will have a different scenario play out. Defalco, Karma, and Farid being alive or dead up to that point reflects on the outcome of that moment.

Glad you took out Menendez in your playthrough. Capturing him would result a prison break. The good ending requires to play the strike force missions, rescue Karma from DeFalco, kill Harper in Achillie's veil and capture Menendez.

My favourite ending is definitely the one where mason dies, because it really is a beautiful ending even though it is sad, and it also makes the most logical sense. Anyways glad to see one last cod vid from you its been a lot of fun watching your reactions !

I got a funny answer for the question " Where was Mason for 30 years?". There is a Modern Warfare 3 launch video called " The vet and the noob". Sam Worthington who plays Mason teams up with Jonah Hill in an amusing few minutes clip. So Mason was in Modern Warfare 3 only in hiding.

I would rather you got the ending you got than the ending you would've got if you spared him, which would be one of the worst ones by that point. Again, I loved your playthough. Your reactions were very entertaining, the utterly shocked face you had on Judgment Day when you saw Menendez was everything.

I think that ending with Mason dying had a feeling of finality to it. It felt very much like a definitive ending to the story. Yeah it was sad but that kind of sad that leaves you looking forward and feeling grateful. You know what I mean?

from what i recall I saved karma, killed defalco, interrogated krav, messed the strike missions. i pretty much fluffed em from the get go and then panicked when i saw a timer, ha. begrudingly shot harper (to maintain "cover") killed mason, captured RM towards the end of the campaign i started to "get it" and the choice of words that menendez used "martyr me for cordis die" meant that he WANTED to be shot. In my world, scumbags don't get what they want, you goin'a jail. 😅 BO1 was a complete mind fuck. BO2 was quite the psychological battle. i might go download it and have a BO2 night and smash the campaign, even my (now) aging PC can play that!

The thing is… I kinda prefer Mason dying because 1, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for him to have gone into hiding for all those years and 2, as you said, it kinda feels more uplifting hearing the music that plays when they’re at the cemetery… it just feels right. Another thing, if you kill Harper to keep your cover as Farid, that would mean that every time Harper would show up after that mission, he’d be gone. The sad thing is that if you REALLY want to get the best ending… Harper needs to die, for the greater good, so to speak. Because if Farid lives, then he’ll protect Chloe on the Obama from Defalco or Salazar, thus saving her so she can prevent Menendez from using the Celerium. They did such a good job at giving the player this much agency in how the campaign can end, which was never really done in the past COD games. But yea… I mainly prefer Mason dying. Not because I don’t like him as a character (I fucking love him) but because I think it makes a better story. It hits home when it shows that victory and peace, comes at a cost. That cost being Harper and (potentially) Mason. I also really like their dialogue at the end, like when David says he’s gonna retire and Woods saying his dad would like that. Woods knew Mason for a long time so he’d know how much he loved David. It’s also kinda amusing that Woods says sometimes the dead ‘talk to him’ because he’s lived for so long with the memories of the people he’s lost… that must have been a heavy burden for him to bear all those years after everything Menendez did to him. But despite all that, he was there for David. For friendship. For honour. And he always knew David would grow to become like his dad 🥹

11:28 What I like about this timeline, even though it's sadder; is that we can clearly see now that Menendez had everything planned out: If David kills him, he becomes a symbol and overturns society, and if he spares him, he still destroys it with the virus and kills the direct responsible for Josefina's death before taking his own life. In both cases, he had won from the beginning, and in both cases, he never planned to come out alive.

They are missing one, at least one. The ending I have always gotten is all of South America along with various groups around the world roiting and attacking the US. I unfortunately have not seen which one you got as my Xbox 360 currently will not turn on. It seems my power brick has decided to fail so I have to replace it before I can play the last bit along with you.
