From what I gathered, Damn.’ original story : Kendrick choosing the path of weakness and going towards God (God. being the last song before Duckworth). And backwards : Kendrick choosing wickedness, going away from God. and meeting his end with the blind woman in Blood. due to his bad life decisions

Enjoyed reliving this with you. I remember when this first dropped. Man Kendrick knows how to create moments in time. A legendary artist. Feel is my favorite song on this album as well . TPAB and Mr Morale are his best work to me.

One of my favorite schemes on this album is that he named off 17 ways he could've died at 17 on the 2nd verse of Fear 🔥🔥🔥 Man's play with numbers in his music is crazy

To understand some of Kendrick's lyrics you have to look at it from spiritual and natural aspect as we are spirit living in a natural body. YAH is God's name, some versions of the The Bible it says JAH , but the consonant J does not exist in any Hebrew word. Example: Psalm 68:4 If you wish, Deuteronomy chapter 28. The blind lady is Lady justice ⚖️ She is blind folded holding a set of ⚖️ which as you know, seeing that you have a degree in criminal justice, she holds the scales of justice that is SUPPOSED to balance "without passion or prejudice" SUPPOSED to weigh argument and evidence. Lady Justice also has a sword. Kendrick is telling us how the system treats us that some of us as a people may end up in a situation hoping or looking for fairness,but she drops the set of scales and can't find it when it comes to our people coming to her for justice. Kendrick approaches her decently , but she's deceptive and actually lured him with a facade of fragility (or justice) and executes him (our people, )with her sword. We are the children of Israel

I go back to this album more than his other great albums but I understand your ranking Damn & Good Kid Maad City are my favorites but To Pimp A Butterfly might be his best album. It blew my mind the most on first listen. It's difficult to rank his albums. Greatness is difficult to rank.

For me DAMN. is more coded with very dense bars became he's written a story with the album that makes sense in normal order as well as in reverse. In normal order we have a character named Kenny moving from wickedness to weakness or from bad to good or from being damned to saved. When you listen to the album backwards the same character goes from being saved to damned. I take the blind lady as Lady Justice. She has dropped the scales of justice and can't find them. So all she can do is kill the Kenny character. Exactly what the justice system does to black people. There are no scales for the black minority. DNA is his response to the Fox News guy. "DNA"'s song structure is very dense and tight like how DNA proteins are actually structured. Yah is referring to "Yahweh" the ancient Israelite name for god. I'm going to stop now because more than half the fun with a Kendrick Lamar album is decoding the concept of the album and realising how many layers are in every bar.

Misinterpretation on your part because the old lady is God. She is not justice. That doesn't even make sense. He's not a criminal. Also justice doesn't mean death.
@PradyumnVij

@@mr.dr0bot731 That would be your interpretation. Some people interpret the lady as God, others death but the question being asked whether "is it wickedness or is it weakness". Like scales being balanced. God doesn't traditionally kill mortals. Death makes more sense but then is usually not depicted as a blind woman. In terms of story telling it also makes more sense as the starting and ending of a story. However that's just my interpretation. Which is the most compelling thing about real artwork. There is no one correct answer for every individual and Kendrick often leaves stories open to interpretation for enjoyment.
