crazy thing about DNA is that he lists off 23 things in his DNA ... which is the same amount of chromosomes you have in your DNA. Kendrick is on a whole nother level 🤣

also the part after the beat drop near the end was apparently him freestyling, and they left the mic on even though the song was over. crazy.

This album is waaaaay deeper than it comes of as, that especially applies to the more commercial songs. This album has a lot of heavy topics such as religion, and the duality between abstract concepts like humbleness, pride fullness, love, and lust. It’s also a continuation of his two previous studio albums. I honestly suggest you do a personal deep dive because the reason it’s sounds so commercial is this is supposed to be more appealing to the masses so you’ll never truly appreciate what this whole album brings to his overall story just by listening. Hope this helps 👍🏾

The line on Duckworth, “ it was always me vs the world, until i found its me vs me” Me vs the World is a tupac album which ties in to the end of TPAB where he has the convo with tupac and he ends the album with that poem about the hungry caterpillar(wickedness) and the weak butterfly (weakness) and he explores that idea more in DAMN.

@@adawggg425 so in tpab he has the poem about TPAB that grows throughout the album. Then he has this 2nd poem after the convo with tupac, that one leads into the main idea of damn, being a hungry caterpillar (wickedness) vs being a weak butterfly (weakness). He starts DAMN with that same dichotomy in BLOOD. But Kendrick himself released a second DAMN album thats reversed which means there some weight to that idea. And if you start it from Duckworth it says, “it was always me vs the world(tupacs album also the way he thought about life because he was a hungry caterpillar) until i found its me vs me(Kendrick new way of thinking through weakness)

Okayyyy here we go. So DAMN. tells two stories about two different paths. Wickedness or Weakness. BLOOD. to DUCKWORTH. is the path of weakness. And DUCKWORTH. to BLOOD. is the path of wickedness. So BLOOD. starts off by asking the listener if you will choose the path of Kendrick. That path being wickedness or weakness. Weakness is essentially the path where Kendrick chooses humbleness over pride and chooses love over lust. And chooses his faith in God instead of losing it which is the track XXX. (XXX in Roman numerals is 30 which is the year where Jesus died). and DUCKWORTH. is essentially the track where Kendrick lives since he was signed into the Top Dawg label because of his father(Ducky) met Anthony (the person who made the Top Dawg Label). However if you listen to the album backwards. Kendrick loses his faith in God, chooses lust over love, and chooses his pride over humbleness. And at BLOOD. he dies in a gunfight (probably gang related) because his father (Ducky) died and Kendrick wasn't signed into the Top Dawg Label since Ducky didn't meet Anthon. And I believe that blind woman in BLOOD. is justice herself. As people say, Justice is blind. And Kendrick Lamar dies unfairly and his name gets thrown across the mud by the media (CNN, etc). That's what I believe this album is about but who knows it could mean smth else. Am only make these assumptions by the title of the tracks alone so the songs themselves could make an entirely different story.
@homerwiser5564
@homerwiser5564 Жыл бұрын
This is the way of thinking about the album, id agree with majority of this. Starting with Duckworth being the wickedness route makes more sense when you think about how TPAB ended with Tupac not answering Kendrick because he died, like how kendrick does at the end of Damn with BLOOD, he chose wickedness
@Jenko_D_kid

Great take bro the way you put it is logical , and also Kendrick didn’t want to answer the question about why the album started and ended that way in an interview with Apple Music I think ,probably because he want us to make what ever we want with it , bro gave us 7 years of homework 😂😂😂 I’m still learning new stuff about this album ever time I listen to it
@Icedsobaka
@Icedsobaka 2 ай бұрын
One thing that i absolutely love is that Kendrick never paints it as a black and white thing, as if choosing the path of wickedness would've completely changed him on every level of his being Even if you follow the wickedness narrative you're still seeing this alternative Kendrick struggle with his faith in god and his moral standings, Even when everything went wrong it's still wasn't easy for him choosing the path of wickedness and his very last moment alive was him attempting to help a struggling woman in the street Absolutely genius writting, He always makes an effort to show the complexity behind the topics he adresses

Another way to interpret the end part of duckworth that a lot of people thought at the time was this album had a second story. Listening to the album as it tells the story of Kendrick growing up with his father but if you listen to all the songs backwards it tells the story of him growing up without his father. This theory was kinda supported when Kendrick dropped Damn. Collector’s edition and that was just the album flipped backwards

Anthony from Duckworth is Top Dawg, the founder of TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment), Kendrick's label (until last year). He is the guy who signed him, and he also met again his father when he signed Kendrick. "20 years later you make the same strangers meet again, inside a recording studio looking for they own benefits".

ik this is years late but BLOOD. is the reminiscing of if kendricks father was killed and what actually would've happened thats why at the end if duckworth it says "so i was taking a walk the other day" this whole album is based on his belief as a christian and the facts that follow through his words and art On “BLOOD.,” Kendrick is shot by a blind lady he’s trying to help. The blind woman can be thought of as representing consequences of the damnation referenced in the Book of Deuteronomy. The duality of obeying God and being blessed, or disobeying him and being damned-giving into “wickedness” or admitting your “weaknesses” and submitting yourself to God-play a major role throughout the album.
