👉 This was a historic moment and is Dimash’s visiting card. That is the song of the songs for Dimash and us, his Dears (That is what Dimash calls us fans.) This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight. The best comment from a Dear under this video: „If you are having a bad day, remember, someone had to sing after him.“ 🤣 That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. Despite Dimash's planned brief presence, his name was intended to be symbolic and understandable to the public. Dimash was given the Chinese name Dimashi and the 3 syllables were assigned in Chinese characters: ⭐Di - achievement ⭐Ma - precious stone ⭐Shi - dream, wish. This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to KZbin ... and so we became Dimash's Dears. The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won). ✴ In January 2021 Dimash was one of the few foreigners who has been asked to attend the live online show marking the inauguration of the President of U.S.A. Joe Biden. He is here as a representative of his country Kazakhstan and he is also here for his Dears from all over the world. This is the first time in the 67-year history of the Sister Cities and the first time since relations between the United States and the concentration camp began (almost 30 years ago) that an artist from Kazakhstan has attended such an event. Welcome to the wonderful world of Dimash. You’re correct. He’s from Kazakhstan and has been classically trained since the age of 5. He was offered a place with an opera company but decided to pursue his own path and he sings ALL genres of music from opera to rap. He’s multi talented too. Plays multiple instruments, composes, dances, acts, directs and sings in 14 different languages. He’s very educated and has (or about to receive) his doctorate in musical composition. All this and just happens to be one of the nicest people ever! I’ve been a fan since I first heard this song in 2017. He’s even better now that his voice has matured. He has millions of fans throughout the world he fondly calls his Dears. They’re mostly in Eastern Europe and Asia and particularly China where this performance was from. You just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion “ 2018 and then "Stranger" 2021, "Ikanaide" 2021, "Adagio" 2017, "Daybreak" at Bastau 2017. Each performance will leave you stunned.

this performance was in 2017 when he was 22 years old. He will be 28 this coming May 24th. You have not yet heard his lowest or highest note yet. His genres include rap, hip hop, pop, rock, classical crossover, ballad, Kazakh folk and Opera. He is proficient on seven instruments, speaks 4 languages and has sung songs in 14 languages His 7.7 octave range (G0 growl-D8 whistle tone) and 2 semitones, meaning he has produced notes found in 7 different octaves, which is beyond comparison. Kudaibergen is well-recognized for his extremely wide and developed vocal range from C2 to C6 to F#6 and, finally, D8. This sequence shows his lowest note sung in vocal fry and chest voice, his highest note hit with his full modal voice, his highest note hit using falsetto, and his highest overall note, hit using the whistle register.

I strongly recommend you react to the next episode where he sings the Russian song Opera 2. You are right, he does go much higher!

📌 Welcome! Who is Dimash Qudaibergen? (Pronounced: Dee-mah-sh Kuh-di-bear-gen) Dimash was born on May 24, 1994 in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. He is 1.91m; 6.3 feet tall. According to Kazakh tradition, he was raised by his grandparents and for a long time he kept his parents as his aunt and uncle. Dimash’s parents Kanat and Svetlana Aitbaevs - Honored Artists of Kazakhstan: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYWaY5iJj5yKi5o His father is also his manager. They all live together in one house. Dimash said: “Open my heart, you will find music. If you open my brain you will find music. Music is my life." He has been training in music since he was 5 years old, has a perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. Dimash also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition. He graduated with honors’. He has composed 12 of his own songs so far and is currently working on his doctorate. We have to call him soon Doctor Dimash Qudaibergen. 😃 Dimash did not fit the traditional image of a singer in Kazakhstan and was criticized. Even his voice teacher forbade him to sing in falsetto (There is a video where the teacher talks about it)... but he was not deterred, won many national and international competitions. In 2016, Dimash turned down the offer of the National Opera in Astana because he wanted to go his own way ... He created his own genre: neoclassical combined with classical, folklore and other styles such as pop, rock, R&B and jazz. We laypeople say 'Popera'. 😃 Dimash is independent and has full artistic control over himself. He founded his own company named Dimash Ali. In 2017, Dimash surprised everyone in China. He opened the eyes of his critical compatriots. Today Dimash is a 'cultural ambassador' for his country and a 'national treasure' (not an official title). He himself is a proud Kazakh and patriot. Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in his family. He speaks Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian (without accent, second language in Kazakhstan), is learning English and Mandarin. He says dancing and Mandarin are difficult for him. So far, he sings in 13 languages. He trains his voice for 3 hours every day, ..but Dimash said: "You don't need to know how hard I've worked, you just need to enjoy the results". Experts consider Dimash to be a lyrical baritone with a typically long range. Dimash says of himself that he is a tenor. Some believe that he does not sing his high notes as a countertenor but as a natural soprano. He is the first singer to sing all 5 voices: bass, baritone, tenor, contralto, soprano. His current range is G0 - D8 (out of piano)! A little different competition to Britain’s got talent. In this show all the contestants are famous Chinese singers who are invited to take part. Dimash was the youngest (22) and also the first foreigner ever, invited to compete. The 500 strong audience are the judges (same for the whole season) and the people you see watching in the green room are the other contestants. No one had ever heard him before and overnight when it aired on TV, on Chinese social media this performance was downloaded 600 million times and Dimash became a superstar overnight and awoke the next morning, to find security guards outside of his hotel room door! This was 5 years ago, you should hear him today, easily THE greatest vocalist of ALL time!
