This song honestly hits me hard on such a personal level: A couple years ago, I found an incredible group of people who completely changed my life entirely, including my partner who really opened my eyes for the first time in so long after enduring the worst period of my life involving my family. My memories are completely full of so many moments that shaped me into becoming a better person: hardship’s, tragedies, comical moments and so much more. And the more I was with them all, I realised that I needed to solve my problems with my own family and others. It’s been well over a year now since I last saw them, and not a day goes by when I don’t think about them constantly. But I also realise that a lot’s changed in that time, and I’ve not exactly done things right as I should’ve. I’d left them all without saying anything, without even realising at the time why I did so until now, so I could get myself back together. And it honestly feels like I’ve lived two entirely different lives in completely different worlds separated from each other. I may not have always done things right, but I’ve been determined to fix my life and bring these two separate things back together as one and strive to become better for myself and move on. And I’ve never stopped working towards that goal, so that one day when I do return to them all, I’ll be ready and start living, no matter what happens next, I can accept that and move onwards. Sorry for the long message, this really resonated with me!
