Maybe i'm reading too much into it, but when Trevor tells Death "You don't create anything, you don't live. All you do is eat and hide," that's remarkably similar to Trevor's existence at the start of the series. All he did was eat, drink, and hide from the world, doing his best to avoid his family's legacy. That speech is his condemnation of the life he previously lived as much as it is a condemnation of Death. Also, note that, back in Season 1, he said dying had never scared him. Back then, he didn't fear death because he felt his life was of no value. Now, he does not fear death because there are things in his life so precious that he will gladly lay down his life to protect them, and that his life had overwhelming value. Long story short, Trevor Belmont's character arc has been a masterclass in writing over these 4 seasons.

Best part is that in the games Death is voiced by Patrick Seitz's who voiced Dio in the Jojo Dub
This battle was so intense. Even more knowing that they had no rest since the beginning of the season. They kept fighting non stop; Trevor having the most difficulties to fight. And yet here he is, knowing he might never see his lover again (and his family) giving his best to save the world. What a man.

the world was never in any danger. if Death says hes been around since the dawn of life on Earth, then that means he could exist for millenia more and the earth will be just fine.

i just finished this anime a few minutes ago, and the ending definitely did get me teary eyed. that really just proves how good, thought out, and well made this anime is, especially since it's based off of a video game as well.
