Real. Esse mano é muito foda, sempre fazendo análises profundas e mesmo quando não entende o contexto que falta pra ele porque ele não ele é brasileiro, ele se empenha a procurar o significado e se aprofundar. In the beginning, when Djonga says "de Pedro Cabral a Sérgio Cabral" he wants to talk about the historical caos in our history. Pedro Cabral is PEDRO Álvares CABRAL, in 1500, when the portuguese invaded brazil, Sérgio Cabral is other guy in the Brazilian corruption, but in nowadays. Djonga jokes with the similar names, both with CABRAL, to tell us about our long history bizarre. My English is not so good, as you could see. But I tried to say it, without Google 😂 so, sorry for me, but Djonga is really amazing. 🙏🏽

But the place i leave, cause i had the most rare privilege at favelas: the chance of a good education since early age, thanks to a HUGE sacrifice of a entire family working on it. I dont live in that favela anymore. I actually live in a cool neighborhood now. But my family is all there. Im writing this comment in this favela at this very moment, cause im visiting my dad. Hip hop has never left me. As a side job, (im a it professional nowadays) I've been working in social, educational and cultural ways as independent artist/militant since i left my hood, trying to give back some of i got. Everytime i see this mv, i cry. And i love your reactions... Seeing your react of this mv, being "in home" tonight, is really meaningful to me. Dont u dare to stop reacting our hiphop and "marginal" culture! There is a whole non mainstream kinds of marginal (from favela) culture for u to see yet, beside movies and music. Specific dances, spoken work and a RICH LITERATURE. The marginal literature and spoken word culture influence in Brazilian hiphop has been HUGE in last years. The lyrics became more structured and lyrical, because of poetry influence. I'd suggest u to react to Slam Poetry championships/battles, but i doubt we could find it in English. But many recent mcs like Cristal started their path in this part of hip hop culture in Brazil, the spoken word. Otherwise, other parts of marginal culture are pretty accessable... So, pls, go as deep as u can and u will not regret! Sorry i got emotional, lol. Anyways, hope this channel gets bigger and bigger, and wish u the best things man, greatings!

He created some music for Carmen Miranda, and a lot of other songs that shaped brazilian culture in many ways. Maybe you could react to "Suíte do Pescador" (the original version from 1957). It's a classic samba, and the vocals in that song are very interesting.

The verse about marcos vinicius makes a play between the name of marcos vinicius the young black man who were killed by the police and the brazillian soccer player marcos vinicius, thats why the verse ended up with that line about hes down on the ground without VAR.

Negra Li started her career in Rap back in the 90s, maybe even in the 80s not sure, with the group RZO. This was basically the second most famous rap group, and maybe still is, back then. Now she's doing more songs solo, like pop and hip-hop, but sometimes she still raps with and without the other guys from RZO.
