Back in the days when Hiphop wasn't mainstream yet there is a divide between underground Hiphop community and mainstream music so no kpop idols can get credit from hiphop community. However when OOAK released, on that day, there were so many Korean rappers twitted this song about how crazy this song is and is made by a korean idol. Only a few idol rappers are acknowledged by Hiphop community and GD is the first one.

GDragon is noted as being the youngest rapper in hip hop. He was 13 years old when he was on 2001 hip hop flex. A Korean rap album. He is the Ultimate King of Kpop. Ask any Kpop Artist BTS would agree He is the only Soloist to win Artist of the Year at MAMA. He also only Artist to diss MAMA too on there own stage. He and his group Big Bang are credited as the group to bring hip hop and rap to Kpop. Before them Kpop groups only sang. He didn't actual want to be an idol. He has always wanted to rap. Fun fact about light sticks, he started the concept of light sticks by creating the BigBang light stick. Before that, fans just used balloons. After that other groups started creating special ones. BigBang is treadsetters and GD was the leader.

10:19 owwh wow sound's almost the same way how I got into BIGBANG as well except it was actually my older cousin who did it. It's not like he actually came up to me and told me to check out BIGBANG stuff, but we like to hang out together at the internet cafe and he always had some songs playing in the background, it's not just only BIGBANG songs tho that he would always play when he does, and whenever I feel hooked to a certain song I would sometimes ask him who's song is that? 9/10 times he'd answer it's BIGBANG or the members songs. After that I just did my own research on BIGBANG.
