Lion's arrangement was the same as the original because this was the finale where they showcased the new song from their comeback album and it wouldn't make sense to remix a song no one had ever seen performed on stage before. This was the final product.

It was in queendom that they first released the song LION. She wrote the song since they were informed of joining the show. There are clips from the program showing the producer-side of Soyeon.

For Queendom Soyeon chose to remix Latata into a sorcery type of concept having Minnie do a Thai intro as if she was casting a spell. She remixed Put It Straight to a nightmare version on the round where they choose a song for their fans. Lion was made specifically for Queendom, she was making the guide for the members in between the rounds of the show after practices, the song wasn't meant to be anything beside a song for Queendom that ended up being a really well liked song by the majority, fans say that Lion was Shuhuas era! Soyeon organised all the remixes and set up on the stages. As a result (G)I-DLE were really well praised by viewers of Queendom and the groups they competed against, despite being the youngest group in Queendom.

These concepts mostly came out of Soyeon's head. She obviously had support from their company CUBE. But Soyeon was in the drivers seat. If you watch the whole Queendom show, they spend a lot of time on the girls preperations for the performances.

Mamamoo won the show, but all the groups deserved to win, all the performances were amazing and I really wanted him to do more shows like that, where the groups managed to show their potential. The woman who appears at the 23:00 minute is a member of 2ne1, and Yuqi is singing the part of Dara that is another member of 2ne1, which is why Park Bom comments that she wants to show the video to Dara, that hair from Yuqi is almost like the hair that Dara wore at the time of Fire -- I love your videos

The day has finally come 😭 also I don’t know if you know but they are having a comeback in January. So in general for Queendom every group has their agencies to think abt the concept and the stages for all the performances even though the members can be involved a lot but for Gidle all the ideas about the stages, the set, the dancers the styling everything comes from the girls : Soyeon come with the concept and they discuss all together abt the stages and all the other aspects. For every stages they had to do remixes of their old songs or other group songs but for the finale they had to come with an exclusive song which is Lion that is why it is exactly the same as in the album.

Fire was 2NE1s debut and huge hit. The lady in the red by herself who says she needs to show it to Dara is Park Bom, one of the members of 2NE1. For them to take this song on was a huge risk and they did a great job, one of the most well known songs in Kpop. Yuqis hair was like that because Dara used to wear crazy hairstyles in their days, paying homage to one of the biggest groups in Kpop history. If you haven't got into 2NE1 yet, highly suggest checking them out, they were huge and considered one of the GOATS of the industry.

Bless your heart Sarah, loved seeing the emotion their performances evoked in you :3 The fact that they debuted May '18 and delivered such legendary performances on Queendom by I think September '19 still blows my mind, even the term monster rookies doesn't seem to do them justice. Like I went into the show for Mamamoo and enjoyed the other groups and their cute interactions, but Idle really stole the show and sent me on my way to become a Neverland. As a Moo Moo it was awesome to see Mamamoo get the recognition they so deserve and the win meant so much to them, I was so happy for them but I was honestly very surprised that Lion didn't take it. Like you said the song itself, the intro, the choreo, the outfits, and their intense presence and confidence all just *chef's kiss* Oh fear not, Idle are back next month! Soojin IS an endangerment to health, definitely keep that in mind when you check out her QD solo stage because OOF she really said imma kill the wlw. I have to agree with a few other comments about not bothering to watch the whole show, the network tried so hard to create drama but all the girls basically said screw that and struck up friendships and openly praised each other. All of the finale songs and performances were great! On these kinds of shows though I do think it should be mandatory for *everyone* to sing live so it's a truly level playing field, some people use choreo as an excuse for lip-syncing but if rookies aren't doing it... also hello Dreamcatcher?! Definitely recommend watching the show, there's some good performances by a number of groups, particularly Mamamoo. You get to hear Soyeon talk about writing Lion and see when she presents it to the rest of the girls, explaining parts of the concept for the performance. It really highlights the depth and breadth of Soyeon's creativity and how she navigates taking (G)I-dle forward. With so much talent within the group taking everything to the next level, it's no surprise how good they are. I still think there's so much more to come from them as well. I'm really looking forward to January's comeback and the album/mini album that is hopefully coming with it! Glad to see you getting to watch the performances finally :)

Loved your reaction! All the groups acquitted themselves very well during Queendom. Mamamoo was of course the favorite to win from the get-go since they had more popularity going into the show. However, the two "winners" from this show were (G)I-dle and Oh My Girl. Both groups got to show a broader audience what they were all about, and it has really boosted their fandoms since. Other than 2NE1's true "comeback" performance at 2015 MAMA awards have I seen such an epic performance as I-dle's Lion stage. I am an old man, but I, like you, catch myself tearing up at performances that show entertainers who have toiled for years in recording studios and dance practice studios finally get to showcase their best to the world. I am a HS coach and get the same emotions when one of our athletes has a break out performance as a result of months and months of effort, determination and to use a trite expression "blood, sweat and tears." 1. "Put it straight" is a ballad song whereas this is a nightmare version with many different instruments. That's the reason why you couldn't catch it instantly. 😛 2. Soyeon was mainly the driving force of (G)I-DLE's everything that happened in Queendom. Stage planning, concept choice, remix ideas, song selection; everything was directly influenced by Soyeon under the constructive support of the members where they could raise their opinions. I suggest you watch Queendom to learn their group dynamism. They are a family. 💜 3. Lion was not written in 10 minutes, BTW. When Soyeon got to learn that each of the finalists would have to present a new song, she started working on this song exactly one month prior to the finale assuming they would surely be in the finale. So, nope. Not a demo version was performed there but an actual, completed version of Lion was prepared. After the success of Lion on charts and (G)I-DLE's growing popularity due to Queendom, Soyeon (and probably Cube) decided to include it in the "I Trust" EP. FYI, Lion was the highest charted song from the finale in Korea which motivated them to quickly release the MV to capture more audience. 4. (G)I-DLE didn't win Queendom, Mamamoo did. Spoiler ahead: However, they did win the first round where they performed Latata (Remix Version). Oh My Girl came second and (G)I-DLE was in the third position (In reality, these two [OMG and (G)I-DLE] were the biggest benefactors of Queendom as their popularity skyrocketed in Korea which was reflected in their following comebacks). 5. The girl you saw reacting first (20:14) to "Fire" is Park Bom and she was a member of the disbanded 2NE1. Yuqi's hairstyle here is like Dara's in MV, another member of 2NE1. Soyeon decided not to change a lot of the song out of respect to their seniors cuz 2NE1 was a very legendary group in Kpop. Spoiler alert, (G)I-DLE ranked last for this performance though this stage is still the most viewed Queendom performance. I again suggest you watch Queendom. 6. Soojin is already taken, Sarah and she's Shuhua's. If you have free time, I recommend that you watch I-Talk videos to learn how much SooShu (Soojin-Shuhua) are in love with each other. By that time, you'll be a hardcore Neverland, trust me. 😎

Since i see you being awed by watching this performance i think watching the whole Queendom show will really be something you thoroughly enjoy, allow me to explain. If you ever plan to watch/react Queendom fully (about 10 episodes around an hour each episode) on your Patreon, you might not want to spoil yourself watching to much of these performances. It's so rare to find a show like Queendom that managed to schedule different popular kpop girl groups to show up. All participants have this dream of becoming an idol that they already achieved, but they all went though struggles, some still don't believe their impact. They all understand each other and what they went though to achieve it. Through this show they compete but most importantly they cheer each other on because they appreciate and understand what they are goin though. The friendships formed are really touching to watch.

I remember when the Queendom performances were coming out and I was like “Eh, I don’t know Korean I probably won’t get it.” but I kept seeing people talking about LION in comments on other songs. So, eventually I caved because I loved (G)I-DLE’s work in I Am and I Made, and Hann was my original favourite of theirs because it had a different sound, and everyone was talking about LION. Wow, did the performance blow me away. Minnie with the English intro voiceover, then Shuhua showing up on stage for the epic choreo with the big music. And at last, we got the song. I love how powerful LION is, both as a song and as a statement of talent. There’s no going back for me now, I’m going to keep following this group all the way. I was really disappointed we didn’t get their I-LAND tour this year because I was ready to go see them live. Really enjoying these reactions and experiencing your journey with (G)I-DLE’s music! Soyeon wrote Lion for almost 3 months 😊 It was during Queendom when the world first heard and saw Lion, because Queendom was a battle of comebacks were their final performance showcases their NEW song. Also, Queendom was in the last quarter in 2019, while the I-Trust album (where the Lion track was included) was released in April, 2020 😊 Please also watch Latata (their debut song) sorceress version on Queendom 🙏

actually there's nothing wrong about pronouciation, you can called them gidle or idle (they themselves said this), you can call yuqi as you-key or woogi (how korean called her) or yuchi (how chinese called her)

You didn’t get the hair reference for Yuqi in fire. The song is from 2NE1 who were really big in the past. Sadly they disbanded, they were under YG entertainment like Blackpink and formerly Miyeon from gidle ( she was in the final line up for Blackpink but switched to cube before their debut). Fire was their debut song and one of the members Daras hair was like Yuqi with the slight differenten that she had one on top of the head. In a Video from their preparation for the song Soyeon said that she wants Yuqi to do that hair with a slight variation as a homage.😂😂😅

I think you misunderstood something, it wasn`t 10 minutes. It was months, if i remember the episode of Queendom correcty, she started to work on the song, after the movie the lion king came out. I think she workd more than half a year on that song.

Yes, it already existed, but it was still not very developed by the time of Queendom. She polished and finished it very quickly(and probably explains some of the underlying similar structure as "Oh My God" since she was finishing that up at the same time.)

2NE1 are an iconic GG from the early 2000s. The funny Yuqi hair is inspired by the member Dara who had a ponytail like that, instead of two pigtails. You should definitely check them out. I'm not a fan myself, but fire is a bop, and they are really important parts of Kpop history. They were the YG part of the 1st girl group holy trinity (2NE1 (YG) , Girls Generation (SM) and Wonder Girls (JYP) ). the second holy trinity is Blackpink, Red Velvet and Twice by the way.

Yes!! I love Soojin and Moonbyul, too!! They're actually quite close after being in the dancing unit in Queendom. Soojin went to Moonbyul's Avengirls radio and their interaction is so cuteTT Also, I highly recommend MAMAMOO's cover of Good Luck in Queendom. It's just SO good!!!

You know, I had NO idea who (G)-IDLE was when I started watching Queendom (I started watching because of Mamamoo) and I SWEAR, if I wasn't such a huge Moomoo, I would have been there for (G)-IDLE ALL THE WAY, even without knowing a thing about them, but they got me after their LATATA remix performance (which was their first performance in the show).

Just want to share my story.I know nothing about (G)I-DLE.I started to watch Queendom because I was bored that time.Viu app recommend the show to me🤣.I'm not cheering for any group there though.But I'm secretly a little bit excited since mamamoo was there(I'm not a fan but I know who they are,and their amazing vocals,so I want to see how they compete with other groups),I know about the other groups too.Except gidle.But idk,the more I watch the episode,I am getting more into gidle😍Hoping for them to win.Because what they show in Queendom,all the performance were amazing.im not a fan of them at the time,but I'm sure they are DEFINITELY AMAZING, DIFFERENT.I was surprised by them.Now,being a new Neverland,I regret I don't know anything about them before(I'm into kpop since 2016 if I'm not wrong)

You should check out the other Queendom performances! All the groups brought their A-game for every round. The best part about the show to me was honestly the episodes without stages though. The wholesome friendships formed was by far my favorite thing to happen. Hwasa and Kei was the most unlikely pairing but they were literally married by the end, it was adorable

Queendom performances are powerful. I’ve been watching these videos for a year and Put It Straight (nightmare ver) performance still gives me goosebumps (which Soyeon said she wanted it to). A lot of the backstory videos with English subs tend to disappear, but there’s some great content that really shows how much all the groups put into their stages. Put It Straight was so powerful, I thought (G)I-DLE was a senior group (like Apink level seniority), not the rookies! Oh My Girl’s “Destiny” and “Twilight” stages from Queendom still make me cry, just about every time. And again, it’s been a year. I think they just have more emotionally involved in these performances than they do during a typical comeback/promotional period, and it makes the performances all the more epic.

If you watch the show, soyeon have to prepare way ahead of time because they're with a smaller company so they have to take the initiative. I'm glad you like it. Their queendom performances was what got me back into kpop. 💖

Soyeon did produce, write Lion including the concept itself. There was a Queendom video showing her introducing the song & concept to the rest of GIDLE. Mamamoo won the Queendom at the end. As much as I like G-IDLE, Mamamoo won it. And I think G-IDLE has quite a few album considering they are barely 3 years old xD some billion views artist don't even have that with 6 years since debut :)

Mamamoo queendom performance!! :D and mamamoo won queendom btw. + the song "Fire" is not their song but another group's song. In this round, each group had to sing a different group song. For example: Mamamoo sang the song AOA - GOOD LUCK and AOA sang the song Mamamoo "Egotistic". Idle sang "Fire" from 2NE1, in this band was (I think still there is) Park Bom who performed in Queendom

The final stage all of the groups were to make a brand new song and release it a week before the finale as part of streaming votes. Mamamoo - Destiny Oh My Girl - Guerilla G-Idle - Lion AOA - Sorry Lovelyz - Moonlight Park Bom - Wanna Go Back There was an intro stage of their own song and three stages with themes. First was a rendition of a song from one of the other groups, second was a new rendition of one of their own songs by fans' choice, and the third had two parts. First was a duo collab with a member from another group and a performance collab with a member from each group. That was then put into the finals standings before the finale where they performed their new song live. All of the rounds were voted on by live audience members and a special group picked for the round. The final round had the stream voting and live voting during the show open to the public. You should really watch the whole show. It's nice bc it wasn't cutthroat like other competition shows. They all had a lot of respect for each other and although they all wanted to win, it wasn't ride or die if they didn't have good rankings since the show didn't cut anyone as part of it. Which is unfortunate bc they took this concept and turned it to male idols and then did exactly that apparently (i didn't watch it). And that was just for the show before the show, there was The Road to Kingdom and then a Kingdom show itself, i think?

For lion, it was made for queendom. Some believe lion was made after oh my god was made (not sure tho) Soyeon started making lion since the start of the show. So i think around 2/3 months. But Soyeon did said that most of their song took around 1 month to make. Btw they will have their comeback around mid January.

I love their Immortal Songs performance, which is where you can really check out their live singing, though it's a cover again. The MMA 2018 perfomance of HANN and Latata is legendary, and yesterday they did a Oh My God performance at FMA which was amazing too. Also the Latata performace in Queendom was amazing. They are the only girl group I really love! I feel like they are more than just a k-pop girl group, because they can speak by themselves! I don't know them well yet, but they're special (just like my ult Stray Kids) and that is what made me fell in love with them. But I think that girls have more difficult way to speak their mind in korean industry than males, but they try their best and that's why I love them the most out of ALL girl k-pop bands!

watch mamamoo performances as well ❤️ and early 2ne1 is very auto tune and club heavy, but SO worth checking it out. hwasa and wheein are big big fans of 2ne1, hwasa cried just by shaking park bom's hand. (park bom was the one in red watching g idle she is from 2ne1). if im not mistaken people think soyeon is very much like CL, the leader and rapper from 2ne1. Well hope u check them out ❤️

I think you got confused between these two things: The song was written by Soyeon in the span of 10 weeks (i.e how long queendom lasted) so 2 and a half months, and the MV of Lion was made start to finish in just one week. In the behind the scenes of Lion, we see them celebrating Minnie's birthday, which was 8 days before the release of Lion mv.
