The black gentleman that does the solo is Eric halloway he just naturally does that when he sings it doesn’t effect his breathing when he’s singing or when he’s hitting high or low notes.

This specific shanty is made for the Pirates of the Caribbean Movies. Unfortunately, it's not a real Shanty that was sung in ye old'n days. Still a beautiful song nonetheless.
