I saw a comment on another reaction video that said that this was ITZY’s “Feel Special” track, and I 100% agree. This song feels so meaningful, especially after everything they’ve been through in the last year.

the mv has meaning behind it too like here are some examples: - they had a huge hate train from sneakers to cheshire, people were giving up and turning on them. yuna was in that train and the pictures on the train wall were exactly those eras. - lia had always been the most hated in itzy for her dance and vocals and she had expressed about her insecurities and fears and in the mv. she’s opening the box with her inside looking scared and sad, along with the lyrics, it symbolises that she’s uncovering and overcoming her fears. - also the last part where they were running one after another, it’s actually the sequence they got chosen as an itzy member. and the location was the same tunnel as in their debut “dalla dalla”.

I was coming here to say something similar. And just to add I think the Chaeryeong scenes have to do w/ how long she was a trainee and her doubts that she still isn't good enough. Especially cuz some fans always seem to have opinions about her dancing skills.

This is probably their most authentic and vulnerable track after going through a lot of self doubt last year bc of the unwarranted online hate to their comebacks. I'm glad they've overcome that doubt and realized it doesn't matter, they just gotta believe in themselves regardless if they will fail or succeed.

With everything Yuna has gone through since debut, all the pressure and the hate that she has received simply for being herself, and how it feels like that criticism has changed her and made her withdraw and become more introverted, it's safe to say that this track breaks my heart, but it also gives me hope that maybe she can find herself again and be content with who she is.

"Without the courage to fall, you will never fly" Kind of a harsh truth, but very real nonetheless. It's easy to stay stuck in a bad situation just because you're afraid of moving on from it. And falling can be scary, but there are moments in life when you need to trust yourself - trust your own wings - and let go, and I think this song and video convey that beautifully.

Also, this is my interpretations of the members and the different scenes they're in: Ryujin: she's locking herself in her room and closing the blinds, she's choosing to not face the world, but as the video progresses you see that the windows are open and wind is coming in blowing her stuff around. I think that represents the fact that you can TRY to lock yourself out from the world, but the world is going to seep in whether you want it to or not, so it's better to face it head on, than have the "wind" mess things up for you. Lia: I agree with your interpretation, it could be an inner child, or - because there's a lot of crying motifs (teddy bears and paintings) maybe it's the pressure to lock your emotions away. It could be both, and her part is there to show that it's important to face your own sadness and let it breathe, not just hiding it away in your old childhood bedroom. Yuna: She's on a train by herself, and seems apprehensive about going into the other carts with other people. I think this represents her feeling like things are moving forward "too fast". Like she's stuck on a ride with people she doesn't know and with reminders of her past "perfect self". I think it's interesting that the other members find her, and help her get out of it; maybe it means that it's okay to lean on friends too. And if you're unsure of where you're going, you can at least have your friends. Chaeryeong: She's surrounded by her dancing "replicas" but also finds herself sitting down looking very sad. The sad Chae has wounds and seems like she's given up. I think this represents that it's possible to be really good at something, and it can really impress other people, but you might still have wounds that you're healing from that one one sees. With Chae specifically it's probably a reference to how mean people were about her when they debuted. Her message is that you need to accept yourself as you are, wounds and all, and that the most important friend you have is yourself. Yeji: she's running the entire video, and like you said Kaia, I think she's sort of "figured out" what she needs to do. But at first she's alone, not just in that she's running alone, but there are no other humans in her "world". She's outside, but it's still empty. I think this represents not being sure which way is "forwards". Sometimes she's running in darkness with no background, and I think this means that she really can't see where she's going, but she's still running and jumping. I think she represents not giving up, and eventually she's joined by the other members, both fixing her "Problem" of being alone, but also showing the other members that it's important to not give up. This is something I've picked up over multiple watchthroughs, but it's just my personal interpretation. I'd love to hear what someone else thinks, do you see this in another way?
@martacastillo6272 Жыл бұрын
Loved reading your comment, you put to words everything I felt while watching the mv. I also think that Chae's could be about perfectionism and burnout. Being too hard on yourself to the point of harm and constant self scrutiny, when you can be gentle and embrace yourself. Yuna about not worrying about everyone's opinions of you, the only people you should worry about is the people who truly love you and are there for you. I think that the posters of her that were in the cart where she was alone referred to her in Sneakers era, when the song was hated to bits and it was also the time when people were calling her awful things.

My thought on Bet on Me MV and the meaning behind of it - RYUJIN is a metaphor for all other introverts who, like the fish she sees (there are five fish in the tank, representing all five members stuck in worry and grief), feel trapped within. Nonetheless, the wind, which is Ryujin's anxiety in the latest comeback, wrecked her room and confused her about everything, but the members are still with her, making her become more confident and join them on that difficult path ahead. That, in my opinion, illustrates the idea that, despite your best efforts, you should occasionally take a chance and venture outside rather than let yourself completely fall apart. Just trust yourself and be confident; nobody is ever alone. Even fishes require outside assistance to thrive. There is a line in the MV that represent Ryujin 's anxiety is that "There nothing in me. Not yet" - For YUNA: People were giving up and turning on them, and they had a massive hate train from Sneakers to Cheshire. Yuna was on the train with doubt and loneliness, and the photographs on the train wall were from the same time period. Yuna also noted in her letters to Midzy years ago that she thought everything was difficult since everything was new to her, and she was so young when it all started...she felt pushed and stressed at such a young age. There is a line in the MV that represent Yuna's doubt is that "Feeling alone again. I want to get out of here. This labyrinth that goes deep" - LIA had always been the most despised person in Itzy because of her dancing and vocal, and she had exposed her anxieties and concerns in the mv (Fact: in the MV you can see a lot of paintings of the eyes looking really sad(the paintings take inspirational from Yuna's paintings in a Vlive), the eyes represent for the soul of a person but notice in the paintings in the MV the eyes is crying which mean that she feel scared and insecure about herself. She's opening the box with her insides appearing terrified and sorrowful, which, together with the words, represents her discovering and overcoming her worries. There is a line in the MV that represent Lia's feeling insecure is that "I'm trying to kill my doubt, I won't deny my fear inside - CHAERYEONG. She is surrounded by her dancing "replicas," yet she also finds herself sitting down, melancholy. The depressed Chae has wounds and appears to have given up. I believe this depicts the fact that you can be incredibly brilliant at something and dazzle other people, yet you may still be nursing wounds from someone who despises you. It's presumably a tribute to how cruel people were to Chae when they first appeared. Her message is that you must embrace yourself as you are, wounds and all, and that your best friend is yourself." - YEJI has been running throughout the video. Because she is the group's LEADER, and as the leader, she was the first to start the run, the first to jump out of whatever is keeping them back. As shown in the video, she ran through a dark location with high winds and plunged from the cliff of uncertainty and loneliness to reunite with Itzy. (At the start of the MV, Yeji began to run because she is the leader and in the Letter to Midzy video, she also stated that she feels burdened as a leader from debut and doubted her ability as a leader, but she overcomes it to bring Itzy back together). She might have figured out what she needs to do but, no one is alone in this group, and that's why her members are always there with her, joining her Also, the last part of the MV where they were running one after the other is the sequence in which they were picked as Itzy members. and the venue was the same tunnel as in their debut "dalla dalla". In some of Lia's lines, notably "a few stay till the end," she said that while some people were giving up and turning on them throughout Sneakers and Cheshire, certain Midzys chose to stay and trust in them till the end. And the last scene, in which all members race to the light at the end of the tunnel, implies that, while they still have doubts and fears about the future and what lies ahead, they can overcome them together. The final camera perspective is from behind Itzy's members, representing us "Midzy" following them into the future and asking us Midzy to have faith and stick with them till the finish. It's Itzy's way of saying thank you to Midzy for believing in them from the beginning. It reminds me of the Twice "Feel Special" MV, in which JYP talks with all of Twice's members about their feelings and struggles. In this MV, JYP also speaks with them about the feeling and struggles of each member being a part of Itzy during the year. And he used that to create this meaningful lyric for Itzy, Midzy, and everyone else who is watching this MV. This song reminds me of the lyrics of Domino. "(Hey) You and I got the same feeling You and I, we ain't falling (Hey) We'll be each other's strength and withstand it Like a domino, domino" From my perspective, I really love this song and thank you for reacting to my lovely Itzy's MV. I really appreciate your reaction.

I think we can all agree that the song delivers a really good message - which about how we can be our own worst critics and the importance of having faith/confidence in ourselves to overcome that self-doubt. However, what I really appreciate is how the song also acknowledges that success is still not guaranteed, that failure is indeed still a possibility but that we have to try anyway even if we will fall again and again. Here, it shows the reality that some of the doubts we have in ourselves aren't just in our own heads and can instead come from a real place but that isn't an excuse not to try all the same. Also, in Yuna's story, I feel part of the message is that we have to first help ourselves before others can help us. If you notice, when the others first come to break her out of the train, she eventually winds up trapped in it again until she manages to escape by herself.

The song and MV is incredible and has such an amazing message. I love ITZY so much, they are one of my ults, and it's been frustrating to see some of the hate they've received over the past few releases. As other's have mentioned, I think this MV shows some of the insucuirties they face, and I think some or a lot of what they are feeling is due to that hate, and the pressure they feel to be perfect. It's a really wonderful song and it makes me even more excited for the actual comeback and album.

OMG i remember you've watched LETTERS TO MIDZY right? Well Midzys believe that it is connected to that. Chaeryeong's part hits hard when she was hugging her knees... we kinda went back to when she was telling what she feels on that couch while on that interview... during Lia's part she said "kill my doubt" because in letters to midzy she said she isn't confident and doubting herself... I believe this was pertaining to Letters to Midzy 2 years ago like most of them were inspired to that.
