Lara is a scene beast, always react to her live performances. She has this magical ability to connect to your soul intimately and convey all the emotions of a story instantaneously. Serge Lama, the singer/Songwriter of Je suis malade, said: "she is emotionally indecent", and this was a huge compliment in his mouth. He wanted to say that she is not afraid to project and portray all raw emotions that a storytelling requires, no matter the impact it has on her face, her attitude, ... She is not showcasing, she is immersing in and living the song. I recommend Broken Vow indeed, then You are not from Here, Perdere L'amore, Love by Grace. All from the same amazing concert. Then you will be ready to discover other sides from her immense artistry: opera rock (requiem pour un fou), live in broadway mode (Yentl medley), pop dance (I will love again), delicacy and subtility (Je t'aime, Pas sans toi or I guessed I love you). Just to start with lol.

Once again i repeat myself. This is the perfect perfection. There is absolutely nothing that any human could do better in this performance. Any change in this would make it worse. This is going straight to historybook of live vocal performances. Just stunning!

Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). But for most, Lara's version is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla. I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian.

FYi - The song is about Enrico Caruso, the greatest tenor of the early modern era and was so big, such a massive international star, he was Pavarotti and Michael jackson in one. He died young in 1921 but he made it to the phonogram era so his amazing voice was captured and he was nearly individually responsible for phonogragh sales among the wealthy in those very early days. The Author, Lucio Dalla, imagined those final dieing days with his young wife (with whom he had a very public affair - she was an heiress). He mentions a room, on a terrace, on the Gulf of Surrento that Caruso and his wife actually stayed at often and which Dalla visited. FYI - Lara sings "Surientto" instead of Surrento, not a mistake, as Neopolitan Italians - Caruso was born in Napoli - would have pronounced it that way. Lara misses nothing. It is a love song, a deep love song, but a tear jerker as well.

Woah. What is up with vid sound? I sure hope you got to hear it normally & it's only on our/my end where it sounds like that. To be honest, you may have addressed this in your vid but I had to abandon watching out of self-preservation.

Yes I heard it normally, I wrote in the description that was the only way it could get it to work

@@wolftube2009 I'm glad. I'll attempt again to hear your comments, I'll just flip the volume off during the singing. Since I'm pretty darn familiar with this performance anyway. 😉

I would venture to say you might actually get more views if you re-record this - find a way to layer a recording of the video WITHOUT the reverb over your original commentary, I'm sure it can be done. Also... I really love how much you appreciate her - especially since I adore her as well... But it would be SO much better if you could fine a way to do your pausing IN BETWEEN the musical phrases, rather than in the middle, if you know what I mean? Interrupting a verse or chorus is bad enough, but a LYRIC? Right in the middle of a note? Oof. Painful. You've listened to enough music to know when something is about to end, when a musical phrase is drifting to a close. THAT'S when you pause. Sorry - very nitpicky, to be sure. I don't even know if you even DO reactions anymore - but if you do, take this as criticism from someone who very much appreciates what you do and would love to see you keep doing it... Cheers.
