More than the animation or at least just as much as it, the story of what you and your team created is amazing, I love this AU you made that infuses more of “a journey to the west’ into it, the image of son goku actually being sun wukong, this mention of a war which I can only assume is against the heavens as would be appropriate, the fact that vegeta and perhaps the sayains of planet vegeta take on what seems to be a mentor role over the rivalry with vegeta or the enemy with all the other Sayains in the series is just beautiful and extraordinary to me. Even if you can’t or don’t make more of legend the animation, I can only hope and beg that you continue legend the story, because that has me hooked just as much as the animation you and your team did. The visuals caught my attention and got me very hyped and excited, but the story has me in love. Seriously keep up the amazing work and I hope to see more of Legend, a Dragon Ball Tale in any form, be that pure story or animation. And I thank you and your team from the bottom of my heart for making this beautiful piece of art.

No one is mentioning key points that I think should be looked at in serious detail. First, yes this fan fic is the best fan fic so far, but it did have 2 points where I thought it could be better, 1st point I noticed was after Broly lost his hand and choked Vegeta, Chi Chi punches him and he had to let go of Vegeta in order to break her arm, with this New King Vegeta, would he really just lay there and wait for Broly to choke him again? I think not, but yall tell me. The other point isn't really an bad thing, more like a missed beat, and before I say it, yes it can be rationalized but it still doesn't erase the fact that a particular feeling was missing, after Goku transformed and was fighting Broly, he ended the combo with a punch, that punch was very lackluster and it left me wanting more of an impact than it left. I understand there are many ways that it could be rationalized, such as, his form wasn't a savage power type of form but more of an agility based form meaning the punch could have been a way to show that he hit Broly with the speed of Light and he was hit with the shockwaves created from breaking the sound barrier, which is pretty viable and makes sense because Broly is clearly a power based form and Vegeta appears to be more Technique based which I believe is also in line with their overall characters in the Dragon Ball Universe. Those were the 2 points that stuck out to me, but overall it was a beautiful rendition. Second, I am unsure why no one has mentioned this yet but, if Vegeta makes a sword weapon as his weapon manifestation of his Saiyan Light, wouldn't Goku's manifested weapon be a Staff like Wukong's? and since he has such a powerful light it explains why it can expand like it does in legend, and he may not have a motorcycle but would it be too far-fetched to get a flaming flying nimbus? Also continuing on with the Saiyan Light usage theme Broly's weapon could be that it is present in all of his direct attacks similar to how he uses the Ozaru form strength without needing the form, he could be using the Saiyan Light in such a way that it's integrated into his body instead of an external form. Third, in regards to Vegeta saying to Goku that his day's "under the sun" are numbered, what if he meant that Planet Vegeta only has moons, and that he intends for Goku to come back to his planetary home, which could pay homage and ode to Saiyans normally transform under the moon, and what if the different Saiyan archetypes depend on the Type of Moon their people are born under, and what if the Moon for Broly's people was destroyed for some reason. I could imagine a dozen different awesome possibilities but I'll yall think about it. The last thing I noticed, is that Broly's Green Light turned Red at the end, what if this new Red Light is a new type of Transformation for Broly's people's archetype of Saiyan. What if it's a direct correlation to his emotions, what the Green was something like Envy or Arrogance, and the Red is now symbolizing Rage or Anger, which would make sense considering what we already understand of Broly in general. Anyways, those were my thoughts, I am hyped to see what you guys think of what went through my head after watching Legend

Yo, I'm glad you picked out the monkey-king style movements of Vegeta and Goku. I loved the way the differentiated Broly's movements too, making him more like a gorilla. Heavy hitting and less agile. Which makes all the sense in the world. Also I love that they peaced Goku in the beginning at gave Vegeta most of the shine in the fight.

The attention to detail in the animation from the 天 (heaven) symbol in the sky when goku powers up, animation, sound/voice acting and editing (especially the voice goku has when transformed.) Is just top tier in all. What a crazy amount of passion that was put into this. It deserves all the respect and praise.

Absolutely LOVE you Dave, such a humble and wise young man, such a breath of fresh air here on the Toobs. Gladly subbed. Oh, the sound guys you're talking about are called "foley artists," it's a hilariously in-depth art for something we're 99% supposed to let disappear into the background lol. It's a LOT of fun too, descended in its modern incarnation from the old radio shows back in the day. Your delight and joy during the buildup to the beam struggle was legendary to watch lol that was how I felt! Goku Black and Vegito (but Black's especially, he would transfer his entire Rose aura into his ki blade) used ki blades, and Black's scythe was the first "holdable" unattached ki weapon in DB. I really liked the style here where he's literally holding a lightning bolt. Annnnnd finally, I'm AMAZED at how much that ITTY BITTY little white pupil highlight on Goku makes him look *SO FLICKING ADORABLE!!!!!!* Be safe all, glad I found you man. Best wishes

You know, an interesting detail I spotted with Broly was his markings changed color. They change from green to red after Goku transforms into the Monkey King. Does this imply rage, or increased power output? Also, when he gets taken out by the, what I will call the "King Kamehameha", his necklace breaks and flies off! So subtle but so amazing!

IMO, I'd say that Goku turned into, as Vegeta says "A primal light". I think Goku represents what could have been the absolute first SS from the legends. Like, in Canon, the history of it all started with one "Primal" Saiyan who couldn't control their power, and turned into a beastly animal with fire for hair. And as time went on, they learned to harness the power and eventually become the SS we all know. And considering Goku, in the timeline this short film represents, he really doesn't have all that much power, and wouldn't know what to do with the boost a SS gives him. So he just turned primal. AKA The first SS from history.

​@@whatitdodave I liked it too, He infused his whole ass SSJ power into a thin ass Ki sword to make it powerful and potent enough to cut through Broly. The negative side is doing this reverted him to Base, which allowed him to get overpowered and strangled by Broly without being able to dodge it, it was a gamble that might have given him the ability to actually kill Broly, but only took an arm from him. I also like that it wasent just a blade poking out of the arm like Vegito's and Blacks, it was an actual blade being wielded by Vegeta.

To touch on your monkey king statement. Goku is 100% based on Sun Wukong or the monkey king. The Japanese name for the Monkey King is Son Goku. Which is why Goku's tag is The Savior from Heaven. 7:06 thats not true at all. To have a fluid and good animation you need to have smear frames and those same smear frames look weird when paused on even tho they are needed for the animation to be bouncy and fluid. It's actually bad when you pause an anime and the no matter where you pause its a perfect image, that means the anime is basically a slide show copy of the manga and not very well animated I do get what you're saying tho
