My first time listening to Aurora Aksnes, singing an awesome David Bowie song in her own unique way. (Song begins at 1:29)

"Icicles dripping in the wind." That says so much about Aurora. She's the magic Nordic Queen of the Elves, and you've nailed her voice. Thank you. Loved your reaction. Liked and subscribed.

I think a lot of artists who are from snowy places end up having music that sounds cold and snowy somehow. Not always obviously but a lot of Icelandic music and music from Scandinavia generally I find has that sound, which I really like. It’s just interesting how that comes through.

I am excited to see that you like Aurora too, Miguel 😊 She is fantastic! She is so different from Angelina, but in her own rights, she is almost as good. Try Churchyard, The Seed, I Went Too Far, It Happened Quiet, Forgotten Love (harp version), Murder Song, Runaway, Teardrop, Believer, Across The Universe, and so many more. There is so much to discover from her. Stay safe, my friend 😊💕

I really appreciated that you listened to this again after your initial reaction and shared your experience with us. I wish more reactors would take the time to examine what they might have missed the first time. And Aurora definitely deserves a closer examination. She is a very special person and, I believe, will become the most consequential artist of this century.

"Cradling the fragile song like a baby as she negotiates their way across the room." I think that's it exactly. She is clearly a 'cosmic being', and when she performs it is a ritual to make the world better, in some way we may never understand. Check out the Nobel Peace Prize Concert 2015, where she has her hands and body free, and you'll see that every part of her is needed for the spell. Reminds me of when Kate Bush says: "'Cause now I know that I'm needed - for the symphony..."

Tahank You. Hope you continue with Aurora reactions, she's a gem, uncut diamond if you will, with her own beatiful shape. Like Bjørk she does not fit to any mold, a true artist. Listen to her own music, consert from Nidarosdomen and Haik consert is a really nice place to start with. Looking forward to more reactions.

Honestly, it makes her covering David Bowie so appropriate, too. A man who reinvented himself so many times, being covered by this person who clearly loves and appreciates the song, who is, in many ways, like Bowie. Aurora can't really be placed into a box that suits others. She's always Aurora, even when she's singing a cover. Unapologetically. I honestly think he would have loved this cover.

Good reaction and wise words about listening. I never use music just as background noise, for me its like an seance. First I warm up my amplifier (about 1 hour (tubeamplifier)) spending waittime picking the albums I wanna listen to. Often its albums from 70-80,s even if I buy newly released albums (2 every week in average). Then I position myself as in a equilateral triangle with speakers and my cat will jump up in my lap (she loves music) and I close my eyes and just listen. I dont do this every day and sometimes not even for weeks because my favorite sound is silence. This way I appreciate music more and every nuance becomes clearer. Stay healthy and thumb up..

I recommend her environmental anthem "The Seed" for a completely different side of this artist, either the original music video, or one of two live performances: (1) in the HAIK Concert that she performed in a forest, or (2) her recent concert with the Bergen Philharmonic! Also recommend "Churchyard" or "All is Soft Inside" from her KEXP concert in Iceland; or "It Hapened Quiet" from her iconic Nidaros concert (in a cathedral).

I am looking forward to hearing more of her, and slowly as I like catching the early ones as reactions... I'm already lost in Angelina Jordan's world... So nice to find new mysteries to explore! Your word choice says much that is good about you. I would like to ask a favor. I'm starting another channel where I can talk at more length about life, forgiveness, anger, creativity, etc... And it's been really tricky finding my voice and trusting it. I would love to preview something with you, if you'd be interested in giving my your honest feedback? So I just saw your reaction to Aurora, another Norwegian sensation, and looked through your videos to find a reaction to Dimash Kudaibergen. You don’t seem to have a reaction to him so I am going to recommend him now. If I were to listen to all of your singers to which you have already reacted, I would lay money down, and I am not a gambler at all, that you will be astounded at the Vocal Range, the dynamics and stage presence of this 26 year old singer from Kazakhstan. He has been taking music lessons, instrument lessons, composition courses at universities etc. etc. since he was five years old. And it shows ...and in addition he has been blessed with vocal parts in his throat that the average person even the above average person could only dream of having. For your first reaction The fans or the dears as we are called by him, always recommend SOS from singer 2017. It is a French song that is roughly 25 to 30 years old and this Kazakhstan singer is singing it in a Chinese competition. He was the first contestant, also the first wildcard from another country and the youngest performer for the contest at age 22. After this episode was aired, he needed bodyguards. I have subscribed and giving you a like. Look forward to a future reaction.
