Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway, Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.
Just amazing to be part of this community, so check my Humans of Eurovision, check my Eurovision reaction videos.

When this came out, I was stunned by how experimental this song was, especially given Switzerland’s past Eurovision choices of safe, male ballads. Personally, I love the song. I love how it’s upbeat, I love the different musical styles, it’s unpredictable and engaging. I love your videos, and I’ve noticed you seem to prefer seemingly ‘safer’ songs, and of course songs with good vocals, but less like experimental or theatrical songs? I do really love these experimental/theatrical songs which is what I love about Eurovision but it’s always very refreshing and enlightening to see your professional opinion. I do agree with what you’re saying, for many it may be very chaotic or messy, but I think many songs in the past have delivered at Eurovision despite the combination of genres (recently I’m thinking of Israel 2023 which many criticised as a mess yet did really well with both the televote and jury). I hope the juries will respect his vocals (if he can deliver) and the originality, but I agree staging and his live performance will be everything. He is an amateur artist so it’s very possible he may flop, but the music video (his confidence, the production, the ideas) seem very promising though :). Please keep making your videos, I’m surprised you don’t get more views but I guess you’ve only really started pumping out a lot of videos this year and maybe also because your views often don’t seem to align with lots of the Eurovision fandom, but that’s what I like most 😅😂

Jan doesn't get as many views because: (i) Jan doesn't infringe copyright, so he distorts all songs (while many people watch reaction videos as ways to listen to the song while someone makes the occasional shallow comment); (ii) Jan analyses songs, not just react to them, and so it takes more effort to pay attention to what he says and appreciate it; (iii) Jan is not trying to fit with the crowd, so will have different views than the KZbin-consensus. Of course, there are other excellent analysts like ESC Tom and Shane, and they also get less views than other reactors.

Thx you both for very nice and complex comments! ❤️ there are maybe more factors to my youtube. First I was very inconsistent for many years. Now finally I am trying to rly do my best but it takes time. Also I completely changed SEO of my youtube and it will also take time to kick in as my videos are not showed to many. And as you say, I do a different content which is probably not for everyone and even I like to grow, I cannot do it without enjoyement and this is what I do. I still a bit experiment with the form but the principle is to stay me, natural and thinking. As I still want to give you professional perspective, ofc mine, subjective. It is logical that I see things differently, as I can clearly imagine the whole process from scratch to Eurovision. So back to your comments - thx, its very motivational to read something like this. ❤️✌️

@@CoxaBranca HAHAHA those are the other two Eurovision reaction channels I watch the most, that’s so amusing you’d mention them too. Their tastes are more closer to the fandom’s though, and their personalities are definitely more typical of the fandom. They seem to get quite a lot of views so idk what you mean by they don’t get many - maybe you’re comparing to wiwibloggs or honest vocal coach or something haha but they’re so established. I feel so many people talk about ESC Tom, and many know about Shane since he’s in that large Eurovision reaction group whatever it’s called with the Balkan guy etc. (tbh I only like Shane in that group) It does seem to be mostly algorithmic and limited exposure for now, hopefully by next year we’ll see a lot of growth and people will find and talk about Jan at a similar respect as how they talk about ESC Tom. 🫡

I rly hope public can appreciate it. I have no doubt about Swiss staging, as it mostly nails and this song can be take variously. I have also a very nice idea in mind. So for sure a good creative can do wonders. Than its up to the artist. Just a risk in here is, the song is not coherent, its a bit of a mess. But can translate good on stage.

Lol this is nothing like 'Who the hell is Edgar', this song is clearly inspired by NF musical style ( classic music combined with rap), but Nemo added his own spicing which is opera on drum'n'bass sound.

it has very similar melody at some point, so thats why I said this. Its more than classic music combined with rap, there is opeta influence, dnb etc... its a mish mash but it sounds kinda good. Even I dont remember it now at all. Lets see over time.

This song is for the live performance and less for studio version. 🇨🇭 were good in recent years with staging their acts so i expect it to qualify. Moreover he is the only guy in the 1 half of the 2 semi so he will stand out regardless.

After two rather boring ballads in a row, I’m happy that my home country sends something more risky and challenging this year. It’s a powerful quality song and there is no doubt that this will qualify. Yes, it puts together many music genres, but for me, this is done in a very organic and creative way. I had much more issues with Noa Kirel last year, when even a dance break had to be added to a puzzle of music styles that didn’t draw a picture. About messages - yes, everybody talks about self empowerment etc. these days, even if the song is totally bland and meaningless. But some singers also have really something to say and even if people are not listening, the visual aspects will probably make them understand what is the topic is about. But staging is also my biggest concern. Most likely, Sacha Jean-Baptiste will be working again with Switzerland, and I’m worried, if she will be able to transfer the idea behind this entry to the Eurovision stage.
@JanBors
@JanBors 4 ай бұрын
she is far the best, so I am very curious. And I would not compare this with Unicorn, that was somehow very smartly done song purely for staging which afterall worked also as a studio version quite nicely. Mainstream hit. This is very specific niche song, as it is not easy to listen to. This might be an issue for voters. But as you say, it has a musical quality which could be appreciated by professionals, but first the song must go to the finals

Angelina Mango is the only one from ESC24 which grabbed my attention from start to end this year...but this is topping it and more in line with my taste. Very creepy and dark at times but towards the end is more "singable" than La Noia which has the edge on rhythm and is danceable. Completely different styles but both Angelina and Memo offers plenty of surprises in their performances and are definitely my 2 winners. If I had to choose one I'll go for Memo. I thought it would be too avant gard for Eurovision...but judging from other reactions, I think it has a good chance.

I'm just guessing this is about recognizing themselves as non-binary, so I'm not surprised the song is a bit messy, since journeys of discovery are seldom linear. I kinda like it, but I'm not completely sold yet; I'll have to listen to it a time or two more.

Jan was kind of clueless here. I suppose Jan should pre-research the acts a bit to provide more accurate comments. Sure, Jan might be trying to mimic what a regular viewer will perceive without background research, but especially when it is an act like Neno that has a unique backstory, most of the votes Nemo will get are from people who know the story.

For me, the song tries too hard to impress with original mish-mash of styles, but the problem is I don't find it original. It obviously got inspired by Edgar and Unicorn. Noa also jumped from one disjointed part to another, and quite successfully. I love what you said about musical canibalism, and Nemo is a good example for me of an artist smashing ideas of other artists into his, sorry their (Nemo is non-binary) own. Emotionally the song leaves me cold.
