Yes, at that time when this show was happening no one had a clue that Tarja is going to get fired. The next day it was a complete shock to everybody when the news came out. It was in every media here. Almost everybody thought that this is it, they can't go on without Tarja. But now we all know what happened after that. 😊👍

This is a bit more of an unusual Nightwish song, shorter and less build-up, but very very atmospheric! And Tarja's voice in this is beautiful, so silken and smooth but then also the chanting part (to anyone saying she's a one trick pony who can only do opera.. she's clearly not!). Also keyboard solo! And Marco's voice is always fantastic. So happy you did this reaction, thank you!! 🙏🏽

Mrs. Coach, you are right, Marko sounds good singing with all 3 ladies, and anyone else he sings with. Tarja definitely is a siren. This is one of my favorite Tarja era songs. Love Tuomas' keyboard solo in this live version, believe that part was done with orchestral strings in the studio version. Emppu and Jukka killing it too. Song is from the 5th album, 2004's Once. Song #6 , of 18, in this setlist, done right after Phantom Of the Opera. Suggest the next 2 songs in this set, "Sleeping Sun" and their cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes", with Marko on lead vocals.

You really should here her singing a classical song, like Pie Jesu or Vilja Lied. That`s where she really shines. And, of course since the holiday season is coming, please check her take on O`Holy Night from her Dark Christmas album last year. It is gorgeous.

This song is high on my list of favorites. It's so perfectly suited to Tarja's voice and so powerful. I think that Mrs. Coach is right when she says that Marko harmonizes well with all three singers. I think that is one of his hidden powers. It isn't only the Nightwish singers he harmonizes well with. You migh want to take a listen to the group Exit Eden ft. Marko in the song Run. Not only will you get an idea of just how well he harmonizes with just about anyone, but it's a really good song that will introduce you to a new group.

If you're interested in an earlier Tarja/Marko duet, from their first album together, can I recommend _Dead_ _to_ _the_ _World_ live at Summer Breeze 2002? Other reactors have used the Nightwish Arena upscaled version without it being blocked, so you should be able to do that. (And while there, check out _End_ _of_ _All_ _Hope_ if you want, though Marko only does backing vocals in that one.)

Thanks for reaction to Nightwish with Tarja, even though you mostly bypass Tarja. I'm spying on you guys)))). In north of Finland, in Lapland, there is a traditional and original style of singing called Joiku. Vocalize that Tarja sang is Joiku. But most interesting thing is that on this show she sang it just perfectly, even better than in studio version of this song. Nightwish has always been a band that just blossoms in live performance and often sounds better than in studio.

By badly treating the first two singers sadly. They had already decided to sack Tarja before this concert. The second singer was sacked when she was pregnant by the time Floor came on board they had grown up enough to not treat their singers badly. Ironically the band has treated Floor exactly like Tarja wished to be treated. I love the End of an Era DVD but it's also bitter sweat.

I posted this some time ago, so think about this: On his way home after the end of the Trojan War, Odysseus was warned by the goddess Circe of the temerity that awaited him. @@CoachCastTV I agree with Bridget. Unfortunately, the audo/video isn't the best quality (but still very watch/listenable) and there are only a couple of live versions available on YT. The studio track is immaculate of course, but has a fade-out. I must confess I like the live version more (especially the remastered one from the Nightwish Arena channel) as the song actually comes to a finish (i.e without the fade-out). Be sure to search for Beauty OF the Beast rather than Beauty AND the Beast which they also did.

Now 2013 Beauty and the Beat with Tarja and Mike Teranna ex Rage drummer is fantastic. Some re worked NW stuff, her own material plus she actually sings some opera arias which is not her style of music but a close cousin. From actual opera singers they said she did well for someone not trained specifically in the genre. She has a chamber music style. the differences really are sort of inside baseball if you will As in if you know the subject the differences and distinctions are huge. If you know next to nothing about it, close cousins is enough to make the point understood. For one they are not limited to Italian & German. But her rendition of Mein Herr Marquis is magnificent. She sings with a live orchestra and choir and that is exactly what her training in Germany for her Masters in music was for. used to awesome effect on the rendition of Swanheart, last seen on 2000's From Wishes and Eternity dvd.

I have tried to start putting their songs to order hundred times, but it just doesn't make any sense. You listen to some songs far more often, but are those the best ones, no. Then if you stop listening one song for a while, that is gonna be very high on the list when you listen to it next time. I even programmed a little PC program, where I can change the "mood" from 0-100 while listening, and it calculates the average, but that didn't work either. Only way to make such a list is playing them back to back and do it in versus-style. But how long would it take, because you need to give it time to brew after each comparison 😊 And then we have all live-versions with different singers as well 😅

After Tuomas' solo... no better example of siren-song, ever. imo. I can't remember the timing og this song's release, but I've always wondered if it wasn't a 'response' to the veru middle-eastern works of an early Epica... I mean, we know 'Epica' is a name-rip on the old NW album title. In the end, it doesn't really matter. This song stands on it's own. Emppu does a great job blending the standard metal-chugs into a Locrian-ish type scale. I know I wouldn't come up with what he did (my brain thinks too-literal and I ape the melody too much). Good song, all around. ... now, can someone point me to the coffee... it ain't even -oh-dark-thirty yet.

You don't actually have to pause with Nightwish coach. (that is not to sat I don't enjoy your commentary). Nobody in the NW Fam is going to report you for copy. Nightwish actually likes it when fans share material with others. Nightwish realizes that their fan base has grown 100x because of people sharing their music. And, they are not really in it for the money. They are true artist and LOVE what they do. Youve heard of the "starving artist" and wondered why doesn't that fool just get a job? Because a true artist lives to bring their art to others.

I have to disagree with Marko's voice fit all of the 3 singers. Tarja and Floor have the range, so Marko could let go his voice on full strenght, with Anette however he had to hold back his voice, otherwise he would overpower her. This is my opinion

Just stop this nonsense. It is the same that saying Emppu needed to play quieter, so that he wouldn't overpower Tuomas. They can adjust their mic/line volumes, use compressors to level the volume difference etc. This is probably the stupidest thing Marko have ever said, and I don't understand why he said that. Just watch this DVD, he doesn't hold back one fricking bit anywhere. EDIT: Oh, you meant only Anette. I think Marko meant both Tarja and Anette when he said this. Still, it is the same. They could have just adjusted the volumes, so I don't understand why he said it.
