Also the lyrics aren’t really nonsense. They make more sense in Korean. The Andy and Jas reaction dives into a really great Korean breakdown. It’s pretty cool. I love watching their videos for that.

I hate how those who didn't like the song are like "oh my god please don't force yourself to like it, we know you actually hate it because this song is so bad that there's no possible way to like it at all" to those who liked it. They might've forgotten that music taste is subjective, and that not all people can like and not like the same things. If you didn't like the song, then just don't listen to it. It's that simple. You don't have to bash those who actually liked it just because you didn't. Just find others that agree with you, make a group chat, go on discord or smth, and then go talk shit about the song there for how much you like. There is no need to spread your negativity on those who are positive about the song.
@darkwizard75432 жыл бұрын
And I agree that this song is definitely made to be listened and watched with a performance. I remember someone saying that this song (just) sounds like a "dance group remix", but I think that's what it's intended for. Y'know how dance group/troupe performances use different songs with contrasting genres to suddenly change the mood of their performance, like from masculine to feminine, fast to slow, badass to cute, or vice versa, and when you watch it you're like so amazed by the sudden change, I think this song is made to give us a similar type of reaction, especially when you watch it live with the choreo. The only thing that separates this from the "dance remix" classification is that they're singing, because basically this is still a Kpop idol song. And you wouldn't even call this a "remix" because this is an original song, but it just flows in a similar way, which isn't a bad thing at all, and I think they made it work so well.
@DoanhGia2 жыл бұрын
@@darkwizard7543 I actually enjoyed it before the dance came out. Maybe because I studied dancing quite for years and listened to pretty much more crazy songs before, so I could figure out how the song works even before the dance choreo do its jobs. But I admit the dance put in extra much joy to watch. It is daring and cool just as much as the song itself.

this grup is gonna bigger than you think, One of the factors is that they will target the European market, especially Spain (for example in the group introduction video, some members speak Spanish). they will pave the way for the kpop industry in europe.

not only European market, in America, especially the South and Central have many more Spanish speakers than Spain, they can be really big if they focus on that, not to mention that due the fact they speak Spanish they can also learn similar languages like Portuguese, maybe some Italian too, they have so much potential to be a global successful group

This has probably been the most successful hate campaign I've ever seen antis waging on a group. This why I don't go on social media. OO came out right as I was getting ready to go to bed, and I just watched it with an open mind, without anybody telling me what they thought about it. And I was absolutely blown away. I was literally shook, and I thought it was the most impressive debut I've ever seen. I was like, "Wow, kpop will never be the same." That's how impressed I was. And then I got excited and went over to LKTV and watched his reaction, and after he finished, he kept saying, "I don't care what anybody thinks. They didn't copy anyone. I love it." And I thought it was strange that he kept saying that. Later on, I realized there was a massive hate campaign against this song. I had no idea it was so badly received. I thought everybody was blown away like I was. I've watched some other reactors, and I was very disappointed they let the hate mob/hive mind influence their opinion about the song. These are reactors who are always positive and laidback no matter what, but even they were suddenly watching the video with a prejudice and being needlessly critical over everything. It was clear the antis already told them what to think

This intro further solidifies the reason I subscribed to your channel. First video I saw was your 127 Sticker reaction, and I was amazed by how considerate you were about your opinion! I feel like that's a much needed sentiment that so many kpop fanbases lack: to simply THINK about what they're saying. Hating on Sticker was a trend, now I don't see that many people anymore who actively dislike the song. O.O is yet another example of people mass hating on it without really providing a valid reason for *why* they are doing it, and I hope that the general sentiment towards this song will also change in the future. Btw, I also love the song!

The hate for this debut went WAY too far and as someone who loved it since the 1st listen, it breaks my heart to see all of it. It went THAT far...a random british newspaper even "officially" called it the "worst release in kpop history"...and i was disgusted by that. One thing, that i also hate is the fact, that people are victimizing the members, saying sh*t like "They did y'all dirty, You deserved so much better"...people who ACTUALLY keep up with them will realize, that they obviously love it- (based on how much fun they always have)

Those random posts are not so random. It's not the first time a JYP artist is attacked this way in European media. Few years back there was a French TV channel doing a story on K-Pop and literally had a Korean Culture magazine director sh*tting on TWICE and praising the influencer group as the only "real" Girl Group K-Pop representative. If it she was just promoting the influencer group I'd have zero problem. But talking sh*t specifically about one group and praise the other can only mean two things. Personal preference/bias or a paid hit piece. Same goes for that "Guardian" post.
@Eluthien2 жыл бұрын
I have paused your video @4:42 while writing this. What you've said so far , I agree 100000%. BUT there's not only "common people" being toxic. A good chunk of K-Pop related channels (reaction , tea , commentary , compilation etc) have literally either straight up sh*tted on the project or sh*tted on the project with elegance. I will give an example which thankfully can't be cross checked. 4 hours after the M/V premiered I was going through the comments on my 4th/5th listen since I already got the point of the M/V and the lyrics and didn't need to pay much attention to them. There was a comment from a verified channel (100K+ subs with video views to match that number) doing reactions that had 700+ likes , 40+ replies (was right there on top comments) . He was sh*tting on the project in a partially elegant partially blatant way. I took a look at his channel to realize he was declaring himself as an "X" label ambassador and "Y" label fan. His content is 99% non JYPE. I don't know if my comment saying " A channel of you size with a big following of "X" and "Y" label fans shading a new group on their debut.. Class move kid" was what got that comment removed. All I know is that people who have influence on audience need to realize that responsibility and for audiences to not blindly follow what the "Guru on KZbin" says. No shade for you or your channel. Just found the opportunity to say this since I find it fitting with your rant. ✌

thank you for being nice enough to mod through all the hate comments on your o.o reaction video 🤍 any content creator, especially in kpop where hate is prevalent, could just merely choose to let the hate comments on their videos to accumulate but you took the time to minimize it. other reaction channels that (may) have not (yet) done the same, in a way, reassure that all the hate is justified which is just heartbreaking. (disclaimer: i am giving them the benefit of the doubt, they may do so eventually) kpop isn't the happiest place on earth, i hope that people like you take on a role that would discourage and not patronize hate. again, thank you so much. 💛 i hope that even in a far-fetched future, we see the kpop industry where hate is never condoned. to all kpop stans: listen to what you love, but don't hate on what you wouldn't listen to 💕 kpop is universal, music is ever-changing and all our fave idols work incredibly hard to get to where they are. you can easily find a genre that you'd listen to 24/7 💛💛 spread love, not hate 🤍💕

I hate the fact that NMIXX's debut has become almost like a trend to throw hate at it. There ARE worse songs out there - and that's not me slating any other group to justify NMIXX's song. It's the fact that because NMIXX has debuted in the big 3, automatically thrown into the spotlight, that it's the most noticeable. I agree with what you said in your rant, the song isn't perfect, but what song is? It's unique to NMIXX, and NMIXX only, and I don't understand why plagiarism is being thrown in with the hate. Just because Aespa have a catalogue of "switch-up" songs, does not mean that NMIXX should be blamed for copying or straight up plagiarism. After being online for a while after their debut, I've seen the KPOP community that aren't in favour of their debut song, saying that NMIXX are basically like a big pot of other groups concepts, for example: I came across a Tik Tok of someone saying that they're basically ITZY, and Twice in one group - but putting across their opinion as if it's a disgusting thing, and the girls MUST have done this maliciously, purposefully and haven't got their own image. I understand that people can have their own opinions, and again, like you said - not everyone will enjoy the same song, but I think that the hate that these talented girls are getting is horrible. It just shows how cruel, as well as closed-minded that the KPOP community can be. I really hope that they don't get dishearten. I'm just going to compare it to all the hate that BTS got at the beginning of their kpop careers - and the plagiarism scandals, endless doubt and hate. Now they're one of the biggest kpop artists of all time (and still very well hated). The most hated groups are still most talked about. That's going to help them in the long run!! The performance version - with choreo on full show flows so much better - *chefs kiss*. I'm sure half the people that are giving the girls negativity and criticism are running their hate based on just watching the music video, and not delving into their performance. It makes much more sense in the performance. And like you said - it flows so much better with the studio version, dance practices, it's just "pause for dramatic affect" part's within the MV that put people off. After all - most well-versed kpop fans should know that new idols rarely get a say in what they debut with - and they have to run with what they've got - and they did that very well. JYP may have gave the group a hard time, making them an easy target to negativity and hate with the unique debut song, and overall concept but they pulled it off VERY well, in my opinion.

If OO is a lame song, people will just meh and pass by. There are thousands of weak songs produced everyday. The reason why people hate OO so much, is that they know that the song is something, but their brains refuse to digest it, and they are so afraid to admit that they are not ready for it, therefore they "blame" the song instead. "The grape is still green anyway" kind of psychological response.

Gurl, you couldn't have said it any better than that. It's disgusting how people are hating on the girls. Twitter for one is such a toxic place these past few days, they throw hate and disguise it as "oh we don't hate the girls, we hate JYP". Don't you think it'll effect the girls too? You don't like the song? Fine, then don't listen to it, I guess? I've been watching their BTS videos, and its sad cause all of them were so excited for their debut. Hopefully they don't let the hate get to them :(

Thanks for sharing your opinion, honesty and courage to defend your stance. First off, I didn't like O.O on first listen and as a fan of Twice and ITZY and most JYP groups, I was hoping Nmixx would deliver something different. AND THEY DID, but not entirely in a good way so I was disappointed and almost wanted to hate it. But as someone who tries to explore other groups and try to figure out and appreciate the beauty that people find in the songs of those other groups, I've grown to just leave them alone if I don't like their work and not hate on the group because to be real, the amount of rage that people had been throwing at NMIXX is just unbelievable. I guess the whole plagiarism controversy also added fuel to the fire and the 4th gen war is just becoming more intense as the kpop market becomes more saturated. I eventually found the last section getting stuck in my head (mainly because of Lily's voice that stands out, not just in the group but also in the kpop industry itself) and I've found A LOT of people loving the direction the group took, including the song. The most striking opinion was about O.O being a "perfect debut song" because it was more of a statement rather than a well-composed song, that it was a medley that brough together the kind of sound which Nmixx plans to deliver moving forward. Note that the director mainly handling Nmixx was also from SM so I attribute some influence to their work because of that fact. People have been divided over noise music about noise music in 4th gen and NMIXX just said "okay let's fuckin go" then they went full throttle and suddenly people are opening conversations that noise music being not good anymore. There's a certain brilliance to O.O but we can't decipher it until after Nmixx fully reveals itself with the next few comebacks. With that said, they got REALLY good sales numbers for a group that just debuted, Korean netizens are loving the Nmixx content showing off their personalities (they are really really funny) and people are actually talking about them. They got Big 3 privilege so I don't think the controversies surrounding them now will haunt them forever, if anything it will benefit them in the long run because bad publicity is still publicity. People with knives thinking they got Nmixx cornered in an alley when these girls obviously have a gun. The girls just don't know how to use it yet, they will be fine

Just commenting to express solidarity with everyone else who finds O.O to be a face-slapping banger. You're not alone! Also, when I was a teen I listened to a lot of artists whose entire aim was to be as not-mainstream as possible, sneered at everything popular, and considered their music too elevated for the common sheeple. I've outgrown that phase, but the hate train for this debut has sort of resurrected that long-dormant spirit of edgelord teenage rebellion and makes me root for NMIXX even harder.

Ok Part2 now that I've watched the video in it's entirety. I was more a fan of the idea about the O.O project than the actual song (since I personally didn't judge it as a "song") . My theory about this debut only got more "right" for me as I've seen more people getting the same vibe and a very helpful couple that does reactions / lyric breakdowns (since they are native in Korean language and know the cultural references etc) confirmed some of my initial thoughts. There was at no point a doubt about the choreography being good and well executed taking into consideration it's JYPE and the pre-debut JYPn footage of the girls skills. O.O grew on me as a song the more I listened to it. I still think that's not exactly what we're getting from the girls in the future but maybe I'm wrong. Either way I vibe with them and out of spite I canceled my Light ver "AD MARE" order and payed 3x more for the Special Edition just to give more money to JYPE to continue providing us with top class GGs and get on peoples nerves. Just hope TWICE doesn't release something out of nowhere for the next couple of months so I can replenish my "leisure fund". ✌ P.S To me they're not only aiming for ROTY but also for Best Dance Female at the end year awards... 🤞

I really disliked O.O with the first few listens, but this song GREW on me so hard and so fast. I think that watching the performance videos are far better than watching the MV, maybe it's because with all the action in the song (like the song being fast with the sudden switch-ups), the action in the MV (the visuals, the random shit, and how fast everything seems) make the whole thing too messy and chaotic, and I think the main reason O.O sounds too jarring is the silence between the end of the first chorus and the start of the part that sounds different to the rest of the song (I don't know what to call it, I'm not really familiar with music genres or how to differentiate between similar ones, and I don't know whether to call this a verse or something else) in the music video.

I think the O.O issues are the M/V where the pause between each segment is too long, which makes us disconnected from the songs. Moreover, their debut showcase is delayed for one week (which is today, I am so excited to see them ❤) as we didn’t know how the song would be executed on the stage. However, the flows between each segment are natural in the Studio Choom and Dance Practice. I hope the Studio Choom and Dance Practice could be released earlier to silence those hatred and toxic people. I know NMIXX is different, but their music is pretty good. We are looking for something poles apart. Not another Twice or Itzy. Stan NMIXX!

Kaia, this is one of the BEST debuts I've ever heard in the 30+ years of listening to Kpop. I haven't been this excited about the members and the sound since 2ne1, BLACKPINK, and aespa. I have O.O on repeat and simply could NOT care less about what others say about the track. While I wish Digipedi didn't invite unnecessary noise by including the ship imagery, that's still not a deal breaker for me, not even a bit. I also commend SQU4D for taking the very bold step of going in this direction, risking commercial success (although the sales are approaching 200k units!) as well as critical and public backlash. Kpop has always, I mean always took risks that paid off only after the controversies have settled down. I was afraid that the pure financial burdens of the new global era would curtail such innovation. No, JYP & SQU4D said we're going to take a leap forward with NMIXX and proved me wrong. And I cannot be happier for it. And I love that you love O.O and NMIXX!

the way they are holding Kyujin before the song starts (and i know i'm wrong, it's just an impression) reminds me of mermaid/woman figureheads at the front of old ships 🧜♀️

people can be so ANNOYING forcing their opinions on others. i personally disliked o.o at first but started getting in after a few listens and is one of my favorite songs. so frustrating to go around and see "o.o is dogshit" "trash debut song" in ALMOST EVERY SINGLE o.o video. just dont watch/ listen to it if you hate it so much?? srsly dont understand why everyone see the need to spread their hate around and tell the whole world they hate a song damn,,, anyways stan nmixx !!

I completely agree with you, the amount of hate O.O and NMIXX are getting is ridiculous. It's ok not to like a song, but spread everywhere that it's trash and negatively influence other people's opinion?? (cuz you know, people are afraid to be different and tend to follow the majority) This is not ok. Honestly the first time I watched the MV, I didn't like the song. The change was kind of abrupt, it threw me off. The same often happens with Aespa's songs cough Next Level cough, which btw is one of my fav songs of 2021. But I decided to give O.O another chance because I watched all the girls' pre-debut videos and knew how talented they are and now? Well, now I'm singing and dancing to this song 24/7. The studio version, without that long MV break, definitely helps the mind understand "ok this is one song and it's actually really cool". Moral of the story: after a few listens, I'm addicted to this song and I absolutely love the girls. I'm looking forward to their first comeback, I'm super curious about what direction they're going to take. Oh and my bias is Lily! (though I love them all)

I don't really know if the song actually grew on me or i am being forced to like it😜 but one thing i know for sure: this choreography is absolutely beautiful and unique and i share all your excitement about the girls and about them being new JYP stars. 🤩

They are gonna be huge. I foresee them being the biggest JYP group ever. Will they even become biggest K-POP GG ever?

The song isn't perfect but I still love it (+ choreo is fire). I bet all of the negative reactions would be a lot different if this was an SM group

I love this song so much. I feel like me being super into weird German/Polish? EDM for like a year before getting into kpop more might have something to do with it though. IDK I like strange and maybe a little chaotic. It like scratches a nice itch in my head.

Also, I think watching the dance practice can help make a song a lot better. Like, if you see how the moves go with the song, you get a better sense of what "style" as a whole the song was going for, and honestly, at least 50% of a k-pop song is the dance imo. B-sides work with Song only, but I feel like most Title tracks are paired with a dance performance, and you're _meant_ to consume both the song *and* the dance. I wasn't super keen on "More & More", but having seen the official choreography, I warmed up to the song a lot more, and it's the same with this O.O. In fact I think JYP sort of shot themselves in the foot by not showing more of the Choreo in the official MV. The choreo was also one of the reasons I really liked "MAFIA in the morning" by ITZY; because the dance was so powerful and really Sold the song. If I had only listened to the song by itself I would have missed out on a crucial part that really sells the songs "badassitude" and would have probably thought less of the song as a result. And finally, that "middle bit" of the song is so good, I almost wish it was its own song x). I hope NMIXX try different things going forward, but that they give that "light rock" sound a second go, because it soulds awesome 😁

Weirdness or experimentation doesn't bother me, I like challenging or noisy or polarizing songs, I loved Ring x Ring and I love Stray Kids and whatnot. I just want songs to feel coherent and cohesive within themselves, and the MV version didn't, for me. But the studio/performance versions fix a lot. There isn't the big pause like in the MV, there isn't the big visual switch which just throws the audio switch into sharp relief, and the product placement is less distracting (I think it was unfair to saddle them with that in their debut, which should just have been about showcasing and introducing them, not making them carry a brand deal too). So yeah I've come around on the song a lot. For whatever it's worth, my bias so far is Lily. I can't beat that voice, and I like how far she's come as a dancer for someone who is, by her own admission, not really a dancer or coming from a dance background.

yes, if you don't like the song please don't throw hate at the group and the girls, and remember people have different taste in music. I personally usually really like experimental songs but I thought it was messy and I didn't personally liked it, but this doesn't mean that I'll just hate on it 24/7, jyp doesn't really make experimental music but I'm excited that this group will try to do this weird style! as for the studio choom performance, I thought it was better than the mv! better flow between styles 😌

A quick skim of comments here is an interesting read. I will preface this comment with the punchline. I don't like this song. However, I am not judging the group on this 1 track, I will watch them grow and see what happens. What actually confused me the most, was that for a debut track... I just don't feel it really hit the mark, considering the footsteps there was to follow of late, within and outside of their company. That aside, yeah everyone can like or not, but I think they really need to up the anti to make it "big".

i like the o.o concepts individually, but i don’t like the combination… i would have preferred 2 different songs showing off their concepts (like red velvet with happiness + be natural, ice cream cake + automatic, or dumb dumb + one of these nights)

I actually did not like the song on my first listen but took me a few more listens to realize that it just a few sections that are not my taste. REST OF THE SONG ABSOLUTELY SLAPS. Yeah this is NOT the best debut song but THE GIRLS ARE EVERYTHING. ALSO A FELLOW JINNI STAN HERE. Her charisma just pulled me in SOOOOOOO MUCH after I watched a clip of their JYP medley on weekly idol and I have been obsessed ever since. THE GIRL IS AN ABSOLUTE MAGNET RIGHT THERE AND HER SMILE IS JUST SOOOOOOO .......... AHHHHH .......... MELTS MY HEART.
