This song is so fucking dark. Haunting lyrics. Its about holding a pianist captive because he loved her playing so much. Forced her to play for him until she died.

Actually the song is about a husband who is a narcissist, and a wife who is a Pianist who was caught cheating on her husband. So her husband killed her and lived with her dead body until finally the stench was so strong that the police and her family came and busted in the door and found him with her.

He killed her & kept her until his father came in cuz of the stench & beat him, Till’s character just went a tad crazy for a bit he was the one playing the piano not her, cuz he killed her. Richard explained it years ago in an interview.

This song is about narcissism. He strangled her ("when I started playing, she hold her breath"), because she didn't only play for him, as he thought. And even though he brutally took her life, when her body was finally discovered, he only thinks about his pain and how long he had to live with the stench.
