I love this song because it's not about surviving cancer or dying from cancer, it's just about having it and still living your life.

like Rascal Flatts has said sometimes life is nothing but a chapter of goodbyes and I'm so sick of saying goodbye to the people I love

I shaved my head when my mom was undergoing MAX radiation therapy, and chemo that had to be stopped early because it almost killed her. The happy news?... she responded excellently to the treatments, her cancer, which was inoperable, shrank from the size and shape of a very large mandarin orange, to a small piece of dead scar tissue the size of a medium sized grape. She is gone now, but her cancer never came back... she died of simple 'old age', 14 years after her diagnosis, which docs gave her a rough timeline of MAYBE 4 years, since it couldn't just be removed. I thank God every day for that blessing. If you know someone with cancer, or, pray not, that you ever get it yourself... know that it's not the way it was years ago... treatments are successful much more often than in the past. My Mom was already stage four (final stage) when she was diagnosed, and went on to live her life to its true, natural end. I'm a Canadian, and our national Canadian Cancer Society has, for as long as I can remember, their motto has always been..... "Cancer CAN be beaten", and we (the human race), are getting closer and closer to that becoming reality... Already, some types of cancer are almost always curable if caught in time. If your wondering who/what to make your major yearly charitable donation to... might I suggest your local, or national cancer societies, who do more than just fund research, but also build inventories of wigs to match any hair color and style, fund or even host support groups, help caregivers, etc, etc. your money won't be wasted if you donate to a real, valid, cancer society. Wishing good health to all who read this, and all who never stumble across my faint words.🙏🏼 And, the happy ending to this song/story, is that her biggest dream, dancing with her true love without any cares came true. 👍🏼✌🏼🇨🇦

Thank you for reacting to this one. The song was written about a true story. "Sara Beth" was a girl from Kentucky that the band met through the Make a Wish foundation. Sadly, she died her senior year of high school a few months before she would have graduated.

Mr., I am sorry for what your momma went through, and it is obvious how much you love her, and how hard it was for you. My mother died a few years ago when the doctors finally listened to her about how much pain she was in, and they found out her cancer had come back and it had spread through her whole body. My wife’s mother and all of wife’s mothers sisters had cancer.

Great reaction! A real tearjerker would be Concrete Angel by Martina McBride or Alyssa Lies by John Micheal Carroll. If you want to laugh, I aint as good as I once was by Toby Kieth or Al Bundy's best insults.

I like your feedback, everybody knows somebody that has gone through cancer, never be afraid to cry for people you love. I am hoping that you will play two of my favorite. songs And.. for a heads up, the second song is about breast cancer. When you stop the song, please go back for a second so we dont miss any of it. If you're going through hell by Rodney Atkins I'm Gonna Love You Through It by Martina McBride
