Reaction to The Pretty Reckless "Witches Burn" Live in Paris

The Pretty Reckless is a totally new band to us, and Coach heard about them opening for AC/DC, which is his favorite band. So obviously, we had to check them out. This song is called "Witches Burn" and it's live from Paris, and the version with the bat. Watch to see what we mean. It's a great introduction to this band, we really enjoyed this one.

"He's gonna be my new best friend" LOL. Lead singer is Taylor Momsen, she is a former child actress, played Cindy Lou Who in the Grinch with Jim Carrey. Also was on Gossip Girls for several years. She gave up acting at age 16 and formed this band in 2009. On tour for their 3rd album in 2017, they were opening for Soundgarden when we lost Chris Cornell. (one of her favorite bands growing up, along with the Beatles). 11 months later , their friend and producer, Kato Khandwala, was killed in a motorcycle accident. Those events hit her really hard, took her quite a while to get back into it. Their 4th album, Death By Rock and Roll, which includes this song, came out in 2021. That album may seem darker, with references to the '27' club, but she said it is more about wanting to live. This performance they WERE opening for AC/DC. Summer of 2022 they were on tour with Lilith Czar, The Warning , and Halestorm. Their 5th album is in the works. For more, their 1st ever single was "Make Me Wanna Die", 1st number 1 was "Heaven Knows". And from the Death By Rock and Roll album, the title track, "Only Love Can Save Me Now" feat Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil from Soundgarden, "And So It Went" feat Tom Morello, and "25".

Been wondering if The Pretty Reckless would show up on your radar. I have only heard a few songs, but they are a pretty good band. I really like Taylors voice, she has a certain amount of grit but still a lot of depth in it that is really cool to listen to. Can't really recommend anything, but will absolutely join you for the journey on this one! She made a new animal friend, LOL. Great reaction as always, catch you on the next one.

Happy birthday to Mrs Coach. It's my birthday in two days. Aquarians are very humanitarian and also do not suffer fools glady. You must have had a tiring road trip as you have put Live in Paris. The actual video does mention what you said. I've never heard of the group or the singer or seen the Grinch film. On Wikipedia, it states they are a punk band. They don't show any sign of punk on this song. There are no blues vibes in the song either. Thankfully, she wasn't Ozzy Osborne and didn't take a bite of the bat😅😅. Mrs Coach is correct. Your tastes can change as you get older. I can appreciate music from the early early 1900s to the 1940s now. When I was younger, I didn't care for that period.

They also toured with The Warning and Halestorm. Mrs Coach the word you're looking for is grit. Dany from The Warning has been developing it somewhat but Taylor has it on tap.

I wanted to recommend reacting to a band called The Darkness. Fun fact about them is that Roger Taylor's son currently plays the drums for the band and has done for a while.
