Just to add on to this, Marx is amazing at stealing / turning the ball over. It's not as flashy a role but it's hugely important. When there is a tackle it's part his role to try steal the ball on the ground. Does not make for the best highlight reel if you not familiar with all the details around counter rucking. Similar deal with the big guy you saw (Frans Malherbe) - Frans is key in our scrums but you won't find much highlights. People typically like to watch the running play highlights aka wingers like kolbe.

Coupled with his accurate lineout throwing, vision, his ability to disrupt opposition attack at the breakdown, hard af defence, insane work rate and discipline makes him one of the most complete rugby players in the modern era. Credit to Bongi and Fourie for their incredible performance at the RWC but had Marx not gotten injured I doubt we would've seen so many close matches. He just brings a whole new dimension to the Boks when he's on the pitch.

If you think you have watched all the springboks you have no idea what is coming for you. Last year alone the springboks played 52 different players the whole year. There is 15 players in the starting lineup and 8 on the bench. That is what South Africa is known for playing good rugby no matter who is on the field. Their depth is crazy. Unlike other teams. When you're refering to his "Gorilla grip" - he looks like he's holding a player, but what he's actually doing is trying to steal the ball - he's one of the best in the world at stealing the opponents ball - called "turnover". why its impressive is that the Ruck (pile of guys competing for the ball after a tackle is made) is not an easy thing to enter - attacking players pile in to clear out Marx, but often, if he locks onto a player, he can be 'immovable', then the ref blows and its turnover ball

It's hard to single out any player in the Boks as the best because there's so many stars but Marx is definitely a game changer. He adds an extra dimension to an already scary Bok pack acting as a fetcher and extra loose forward who can tackle players into next week. Unbelievable athlete.

1. Eben is not even one of the current top 5 Springboks. 2. The best current Springbok is PSDT or Cheslin Kolbe. 3. Springbok is South Africa’s national team. In order to make that team you need to play club rugby(that is why Marx is playing in different jerseys) 4. The guy in the beginning is a tighthead prop. They are usually the heaviest players in the team. So no he does not have to lose any weight, he could even pick up some.
