My grandads died, first in Helsinki bombing, and second later as a veteran. They both fought also WWI

@@MrMickRoo1 I was lucky my both grandfathers survived both the winter and continuation war with the battle scars for life ,when so many fell in the battlefield . Our beloved country has suffered too much

It's relatively good short version of things. But some things need to be added: The third and last negotiations between Finland and Soviet Union was in pretty good spirits. Stalin, Molotov, Tanner and Paasikivi were all laughing, at the end of the second negotiation Molotov told Finnish representatives that this will be solved with military,. Also Finland evacuated their industry from the area but once Soviets realized it they demanded it back. -Väinö Tanner - Olin Ulkoministerinä talvisodassa. Soviets also demanded from Germany that they should get Finland in November 1940 but Germany told them it's not theirs to give. Documents on Nazz-Soviet relations 1939-1941. Germany guaranteed Romanian borders earlier and sent troops through Finland to prevent Soviets from invading it. Germans also knew that Russians were bad at war already in WWI.

Soviets firebombed Helsinki, and Molotov said they were no boms, just bread and humanitarian aid, so they named the Molotov cocktails after him so Soviets could have drinks with that bread.

You must see a film of Winter War " Talvisota " from 1989.

When the Finns learned the content of the secret addendum to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, they started to mobilize the FDF 2nd week of Oct 1939. Flash fortifications & arms procurement followed. In March 1940 Finland asked for peace tho the Red Army hadn't break thru. Fin historians believe, notably Heikki Ylikangas, this followed a telephone call from Berlin advising Finland not to spend its officers & with a hint of getting even in near future.

You should react to some version of Evakon laulu, the song that captures the sorrow of the Karelians who had to flee beacause of the Soviet invasion. It is one of the most powerful piece of art ever made. It contains the sadness of the fate of Karelian people, but it also has some hope. "secure" more territory to used as buffer zone against their enemy Nazi Germans, right 😂😂😂. Wrong. Soviet Union and Nazi Germany was partners in crime at this time and had fought toghether and done it very successfully. Nazis attacked Poland from the West and some 2 weeks later, the Soviets attacked Poland from the East. They didn't really meet no Polish military, because the Germans had already defeated them at this point. So the Soviets and the Nazi Germans military met each other in Rest and they held even a joint military parade together. So this lie that he needed land against the Nazis is a total lie and something the Soviets AND the Western Allied forces have come up toghether. The western allied forces needed to clean the Soviets reputation of being the one that actually started WW2,toghether with the Nazis didn't sound very nice and the West must never to be accused of being best pals with a dictatorship/country that started this war in the first place. Did you know that this "Land and Lease act" between Soviet Union and the Western Allied forces, was signed in March 11:th 1941!!!! Doesn't this change anything,? The Nazis attacked Soviet Union in the 22:nd of June 1941. This means that Stalin had ALREADY betrayed Nazi Germany and had plans to attack German toghether with the Western Allied forces. That is also something that must be pushed into some very dark corner, because we must learn to belive that this Hitler attacked Stalin, only because he was a maniac, unlike Stalin. He had no reason what so ever to attack, right. We have been lied to by the Western Allied countries and the Soviets, that didn't even get no war charges against them thought thst this was perfect. There where Finnish officers that tried to get some Soviet officers charged of loads of war crimes, during the Winter War and Continuation War (Finland was attacked by the Soviets, but Finland had to pay for the losses of the Soviets military) in the Nuremberg war crime trial, toghether with the Nazis. These killed several hundred civilians and they raped old men and woman , children alike. The West and the Soviets denied the Finnish delegation to charge these officers totally. West didn't care about the truth and of charging militaries for warcrimes, if you where a western ally.
