Cell shading is a type of shading where animators use 2 or more colors to potray shadows rather than having gradients or smoothed out shadows for easier animation. Its usually composed of a base color and the shadow color 😊

Cell shading is something the vast majority of 2D animators and artists use, because a gradient and more realistic shading style is hard to blend with a 2D art style. So instead of getting lighter towards the edge of the shadow, the shadow just cuts off and the color tone is the same the whole way through. It is possible to do gradient/layered cell shading, but it's difficult to make it look good

Well the video was actually 2d animated but was incorporated with 3d background Cell shaded is a form of animation where they used 3d models but the color palette/scheme used still more cartoon like where the amount of shading gradient is less than what is normally used in normal 3d animation which gives it a more 2d vibe. Example of this is RWBY and Molly the Star Driver.

Cell shading is.. Shading lol, it's in the name. Literally how a character is shaded (shadows), it's what usually used in animation because it's easier to do per frame. Also anime is just japanese animation in definition but yes it can also be referred to as an artstyle.

Im sure the characters are handdrawn. Cellshading looks different. Its used to make 3D characters look like they are drawn. Pretty sure thats not the case here. In many of ritos videos there are handrawn scenes or they are handdrawn like Takin over.
