The violin has always been one of my favorite classical instruments to listen to. I have been to symphony performances where they had world renown violinists play solo pieces and Jill iis as good as any of them. Whomever composes their music does a wonderful job as well. As for your reactions, I like that it is raw and truthful. I see too many people reacting who end up saying 'this is the best thing I have ever heard' to everything they react to. Keep on keeping it real.

Thanks for continuing to feature bands like UM. Sorry to say it, in the U.S. people seem to have given up on challenging themselves musically. Thank goodness for youtube, that we can find insanely creative and skilled bands in places like Mongolia, Eastern Europe, Brazil and most of all, Japan. No, no need to say "kidding".

Fun fact those dudes started by doing covers of videogame songs and at first didn't intend making original songs but it got there that's why their sound is so much like upbeat jrpg music like from old final fantasy and dragon quest and ys and some pokemon

I was wondering if you were going to get to this before the live stream, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! On you first Unlucky Morpheus reaction you asked for more violin and this song immediately came to mind 😊 The singer, Fuki, designs most of their costumes for shows and videos (I don't think she designed the hoodie 😉). This band is amazing and I'm sure more requests are coming...... even maybe more Ladybaby 🤘😁🤘

The thing with Japanese artist being classically trained and on their game is because Japan is a structured Society. Whereas Europe and here in America is moving towards the more "willy-nilly do what you want / parents are our best friends" structure. Also the members of Unlucky Morpheus are basically all in their mid-30s. Aside from their guitar player Jinya in his 20s. Although that's not old and definitely younger than us LOL. 47 here.
@Vitericus13 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say necessarily classically trained so much as just going to music school and learning theory and how to actually write music. In the States, it seems like there's this underlying notion that music is a talent you're either born with your you don't have it, or that learning theory is bad because, "I want to compose based on my emotions, not be told what to write,' which isn't how it works. Learning theory is a tool that helps you write what you want without trial and error, because you'll know what sounds illicit which types of emotions. In Japan, it seems more about the music, less about genre and categories. In the States it seems more about entertainment and getting rich and famous. Not in all cases mind you. It seems rare for me to listen to anything but Japanese bands these day. There's just more creativity.

Since you mentioned the storytelling, you should probably check out the subbed version of Tower Of Blood that's on KZbin. They actually telling a story in that song and Fuki is even changing her voice when she sings from a characters point of view.

Great comments on the drum sets. Great contrast to draw: Band-Maid's Akane uses a jazz setup; Lovebites' Haruna goes all-out metal with hers.

Apparently the lead singer Fuki (Tenge Fuyuki) splits time between multiple bands; 'Light Bringer' 2015 - present; 'Dragon Guardian' 2009-2012 (no longer active); 'Unlucky Morpheus' 2008- present; Doll$Boxx 2012- present. Looks like Unlucky Morpheus was without her services for a while and decided to do a bunch or instrumental covers this year.
@Ghorda93 жыл бұрын
she left light bringer for unlucky morpheus.

She is also still with Unlucky Morpheus and have done interaction videos withfans on KZbin. They also did a live concert on KZbin last year and Doll$Boxx are not currently active and haven't been for a few years.

Reminds me of the early 70s prog rock in terms of classical musicians playing popular music. - I missed out on a chance to see Rick Wakeman play in Lincoln Cathedral a few years back. One of the few people qualified to play the device.

Dont know about the US, but EU has tons of classical influenced band, and classical instrumentation in them. For ex. The Sins of Thy Beloved has a crazy violinist. Haggard has a full symphony. there's a full genre called symphonic metal, mainly based in EU, that LOVE preforming and recording with orchestras
@fastskipper7773 жыл бұрын
That's not vocaloid, it's Touhou Project dress made by Fuki (the vocal). Touhou is a niche fantasy video game genre (magic, dragons, monsters, spirits from Japanese lore etc). Fuki is probably the best female metal singer from Japan. The bassist only played Jazz before joining this band. Regarding story, it's true. The reason is the band is based from Touhou Project. It you look it up, it has really elaborate fantasy story plots and lore. A lot of their original songs were based on the original games OST. Then, the band started composing their own originals songs. Many are classically trained as you can see.

Honesty is a good thing and if we have different opinions you say your piece in a cool way. I am oh so happy to see a reactor that is open minded about rock and metal. Real metal/rock historians know that there have always been more instruments than just guitar, bass, and drums.

Miyako of Lovebites. She is as skilled as Jill on piano. She is a top level guitarist yet she is basically a classic pianist. This reaction is two year old but Mioyako already had played the famous live Swan Song with Chopin Revolutionary Etude in 2020. About Wagakki Band, the Singer Yuko majored piano at Tokyo College of Music. She is a good jazz pianist and classic pianist as well.

It's time to do a reaction to the japanese band "Li-sa-X BAND" with the song "One More Chance Is Enough" Li-sa-X is 16 years old prodigy guitarist and she formed this band with the singer Rina and the guitarist HAZUKI (now with the band NEMOPHILA) Edit: Whaaat?? You didn't reacted yet to the band DOLL$BOXX?? Fuki, the lead singer of Unlucky Morpheus is also the DOLL$BOXX singer. Do it 👉🏻🙏🏻

That's not a vocaloid dress. That's a Touhou Project dress. Touhou Project was a one-man video game project, where a guy made a bunch of bullet-hell shoot-em-ups, and composed all the music for his games. From these beginnings sparked a cultural phenomenon ... I wouldn't be surprised if some of the average people on the street have heard of "bad apple." Anyways, this song was inspired by the music from the game "Embodiment of Scarlet Devil"

Just outstanding musicianship. With Megan's anime background did she ever stumble on FLCL and introduce you to it? It is 6 episodes but the music..... THE MUSIC! The Pillows are an amazing rock band and my only fear in requesting a reaction is if they have like Warner or someone that would strike it down. I can't stress though how good they are.
@ANDOR-3 жыл бұрын
To add to your "they kick US bands asses" comment, I think some Japanese school clubs could compete with western bands when it comes to musicianship. They learn instruments (or singing and dancing) very early on in their lifes because they get taught that leisure time is wasted time. They rather perform in a club after school from 4 to 6pm (and enter competitions) than go home and watch TV like a lot of kids in the western hemisphere do. And when they're home and ate they go study from 8 to 10 or 11pm before going to sleep. To pick up on your "they're all young" comment, some of the musicians you mentioned aren't that young anymore (at least for Japan). I think the average age of Unlucky Morpheus is in the mid-30s. Band-Maid members are all in their late 20s, etc. You have to look at the cultural side of things too, because a lot of people still wrinkle their brows at women who are not married when they're 30. I don't think these musicians care about that, but I'd say the average career for a woman in the Japanese entertainment business ends in their mid-30s so they can build and/or give their full attention to family.
