Both losses on him. He calls the plays, has a good enough defense (way better than last year), and the team always starts slow. Play Calling Dude - run the ball and forget passing so much. You should have 280-300 yards a game running you have so many running backs PLEASE BE MORE FLEXIBLE IN YOUR PLAN. USC should be 5-0 or at least 4-1. ON HIM FOR SURE>

i actually love the parity in college football right now: - 2 major conferences where the best teams go head to head in the regular season - expanded playoff - NIL to spread the talent around - longer travel this is starting to feel like the NFL where we don’t need to put so much emphasis on a perfect season. uncharacteristic losses are a normal occurrence and Minnesota was a classic trap game. if the chiefs or vikings ended up losing to a 1-4 team next week, would anyone say they’re no longer super bowl caliber? I’d love to see the top teams in each conference end with 1-2 losses

Regress- the action of returning to a former or less developed state. Lincoln Riley is 22-10 through 32 games as the USC head coach. Clay Helton was 23-9. This happened with Riley at OU aswell, not as quickly like it has at USC but he got worse each year. I guess SC didn’t go over the return investment section of the Riley hire.

It’s hard to be a coach in the NIL era it’s a results driven business. With that being said Riley had Bob Stoops players his first few years and they should have played for a National Championship if not won one. He absolutely blew it with horrible defensive play and it went down hill from there.

​@@rocfitness5747 Agreed. Clay Helton inherited his players from the Pete Carroll holdover era. Helton would not have been able to recruit those caliber players on his own. Lincoln Riley signed up for a head coaching job at USC when it's a dumpster fire so Riley had to build up the program from scratch basically. Because of this I don't blame Riley per se because the program was terrible when I became USC head coach.

He will likely move to a team next year that will get into the playoffs.

How about you issue an apology to Oklahoma fans (I am not one, btw) who you crapped all over when Riley went to USC? Remember when you told us USC would dominate in year two (it's year three btw). Everybody told you Riley's defenses have never been good. You ignored them, THEN at the beginning of the season you told the people they had to give Riley a few years. "Be more patient" you said. Well they weren't the ones telling us USC would dominate in year two, you were. So how about you just stop trying to push the blame to others and say, "Man, I was wrong about Riley. It's a mindset, combined with a lack of understanding of how to build and sustain winning rosters along with an absence of leadership. I happen to also be a Vikings fan and both Riley and KOC walked in the door in 2022 as ex-QB offensive centric coaches. Riley had the head coaching experience under his belt. KOC had never been a HC in his life but you know what, he understood culture, team building, and that he needed to embrace all aspects of his team. When he won 13 games his first year but realized his DC wasn't good enough, he moved on and brought in one of the best in Flores. Riley brought a DC from Norman to LA who had failed him time and again. He only moved on from Grinch when he absolutely had to. One of these guys "gets it", and one does not and the one who doesn't probably never will.

This was an awesome analysis. USC hasn't started paying NIL to recruits yet because of...well, I won't say what I think, but now with the green light, this will change. Our AD Jen Cohen is committed to the NIL era and the Big 10. There will be changes. It doesn't change the outcome of this game, which was very disappointing and appalling from all sides of the ball, but We will be able to compete now for players. That's a game changer.

Air Raid offenses do not value power football in the running game. Bottom line- Lincoln Riley is an offensive coordinator/ quarterback coach trying to be a head coach. In the Michigan game, a real coach would call timeout. Call the defensive leaders over and fire them up to get a stop and win the game. His looking at his loose leaf papers and calling timeouts to save time for his offense. What a terrible message to send to your defense. They lost. USC's O linemen are trained by Josh Henson for dual threat QB's who can run, not a 4.85 (40) pocket passer named Miller moss! You Don't blame Miller Moss however for being what he is, The kid throws straight passes on target. Moss just needs time and USC simply does not have the type O line to give Moss that time. Who you blame is a head coach who knows he is headed into the B1G where he will have to run to win games and that head coach insists on the Air raid even when he has a RB averaging over 6 yards a carry as the case was vs Minnesota.
