I love Vanessa at the opening of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Heroes Live Forever. She was only 19 at the time. That last note she belts out goes on for about 26 seconds. Just incredible.😮

That one was playback fyi. She generally does sing live and I've always been a big fan. But that night i heard it was apparently too windy and didnt want the mics to have interference, so they chose to use a pre-recorded vocal for it.

The high notes are alien. I recently saw her in concert and she had a good mix of songs. Only hitting the really high notes for affect. Which was great. A compilation like that makes it look like that's all she does which definitely wasn't my experience.

To me what makes Vanessa stand out as the best belter is not only how clean her notes are.. Vanessa can not only hit a C6 but then sing a whole verse or a chorus in the note

Amazing range! Yeah it's not really the same as Mariah Carey. Mariah has a higher whistle register. While Vanessa has a higher belting range. I'm a fan of both though 👏🏻
