I'm sad that I have missed them when they were touring in Europe last year. They played two festivals in France, both at 4h hours from Paris. But the tickets were sold out even before they announced VOB in the festival lineups...😢

I've seen you about a lot today S.R, good job👍There's something a bit different about Baceprot which sets them apart from similar up & coming bands. She sounds like Dani from The Warning but they have weird time changes like S.O.A.D :)

Imagine a group of teenaged girls in a conservative Muslim village in Indonesia, starting a heavy-metal rock group in the face of a societal resistance, including opposition by some of their parents. That is Voice of Baceprot. They started off posting covers of big-name western metal bands, before starting to release their own music. They consider themselves faithful Muslims, and wear hijab on stage (with some enhancements, hence “the costumes”), but they still get opposition and even threats from people who are opposed to girls behaving this way (“baceprot” means “noisy” or “loud”). “School Revolution”, kzbin.info/www/bejne/apK9iWB5ba1-gMU their breakout song, is about having the right to have ones’ own thoughts, free of judgement from society. “God Allow me (Please) to Play Music” is about people who use religion as an excuse to persecute artists. 3 village women who struggle with all their limitations from playing music at school, a house in a village far from the city for 2 hours, belittled by their family, teachers and friends but they can prove to the world that they can chase their dreams as long as they focus and try. thanks to Abah Erza for being able to direct their energy to music, I hope Vob stays humble and doesn't leave prayer.
