Being Feyenoord fan is from birth its a big part of life for the people i know. The dutch national is fun but we cant waitt till our team starts the season again. Our pride and love is so big that it makes us blind sometimes and bad things happen. i say Ajax but outside we call them 020 (zerotwenty) we dont take that name in our mouths. Feyenoord surely got the most passion in their support in the whole Netherlands and thats why we are well known outside the country aswell. I have to admit, being an Ajax fan is the best feeling there is. I do hate the fact that there are a lot of ‘succes’ supporters. We have a huge fan base and a huge hardcore group, but the succes supporters are terrible. As soon as the club is doing good and we get far in Europe, you see people going to the stadium who don’t even watch h football. And as soon as the club doesn’t play as good, they don’t even watch the matches. But I’m still very proud to be an Ajax fan and lucky to have had to celebrate so many titles and cups already, unlike some other teams :)

Feyenoord won this season twice against Ajax, 1st in Amsterdam we won 0-4 and the Ajax fans we fuming and after 0-3 the game got suspended for a few days because Ajax fans were throwing fireworks and it became unsafe and outside the stadium they were destroying things even their own stadium. The 2nd time Feyenoord won 6-0, but because there is still so much heat between those 2 teams, so I don't think that we will see away fans in the upcoming years. And a other topic I personally as a Feyenoord fan think that we have one of the best fans in the world, we are always there for our club in good and bad times, we've seen a lot of bad times for our club especially between 50 and I would say 7 years ago. Now we are having a good time, Arne slot helped us grow again as a club domestically and internationally, he put us back on the map. I hope we will continue to have such good times with Feyenoord in the future, now that Arne Slot is gone to Liverpool.

Berhuis went to Ajax because of better salary and increased chances of winning title's and cups. Or so he tought... Ironically since he joined Ajax, the club went in a downward spiral (since Marc Overmars and other staff left the club) and are performing less than Feyenoord and PSV to this day. Since a few years Feyenoord is playing better and better football, especially since Arne Slot. That must quite sting Berghuis if he looks back on his dicision. I am a Ajax fan myself, unlike halve of my family, they are for Feyenoord. But I like the rivalry, it gets you pumped for each klassieker and let the football clubs gain more progress along the way. They are boosting each other to get the best out of themselves.

Cruijff did'nt need a coach or manager. He set out the tactics and was as you perhaps call it a 'player manager'. During a match he set out the strategy, decided when to an attack or defend strategy. He always talked to players in the field, during at match, how they could perform at their best. Cruijff was a blessing for Dutch football. We still benefit from his views on football. ❤

I'm a Feyenoord season ticket holder since 2004 and was lucky enough to be in the stadium in 2002 when we won the UEFA cup. If we talk about passion Rotterdam south is the place to be. And it goes against the "moxy" mentality in Amsterdam (wich is just being arrogant but they gave it a different name). We also use our youth system a lot and very successfully. Players like Georginho Wijnaldum, Robin van Persie, Stefan de Vrij, Lutsharel Geertruida, Tyrell Malacia and many more are from our youth system from the age of 10 till the first team up to being international

Its weird to me that all these self acclaimed great fans HATE me without knowing me, basically being what you accuse me of as being arrogant. I work a lot in Rotterdam with great pleasure but the current generation has more to say about working hard then actually doing it just like it here. tbh, for me what I want Feyenoord to be, it's good football, with incredible players like - van Hanegem, a brilliant 10 who had the technical ability of a Cruijff in his left leg, but could kick you in half like Sergio Ramos need be, and won the first (CL)European cup in 1970 with Feyenoord - Robin van Persie, another lefty legend, who you'll probably have seen play at arsenal and united, who won the last (EL)European cup in 2002 with Feyenoord. - Ruud Gullit, who played with Cruijff at Feyenoord. players who are technical style icons rather than dirk Kuijt... a work horse! I never liked the 'roll up your sleeves, you need to run 4 marathons in 1 game' mentality, bc it never wins you titles, and as such I was really happy when Arne Slot came in and brought in technically good and beautiful football, similar to what klopp did with Liverpool! they might have a couple more trophies, but Feyenoord was the first and is the last with European trophies!

Yes that's true. Most of our media and government is Amsterdam focused. But they forget the rest of our country. There is a growing divide between Amsterdam and the rest of The Netherlands. To counter this, our official name has changed from Holland to The Netherlands. But still, the people you see on TV come from, or live in Amsterdam. It's weird: I was born a Feyenoord supporter, but when I lived in Scotland I felt automatically drawn to the Celtic of Wim Jansen, Henke Larsson, and Pierre van Hooydonk. And when I moved to Hamburg, there was only one team for me, FC St Pauli. And guess what: those three clubs have very tight fan links, so maybe it's not that suprising it fell like that. Obviously plenty of Hu^H^H Gers fans among my pals, and even have supporters of them from Amstelveen-Noord in my family As for moves between the teams: This video is obviously made by younger people, as they forget that there have been plenty of players switching between the teams (with various degrees of fan "enthusiasm"): Wim jansen, Simon Tahamata, Arnold Scholten, Robbie Witschge... To start with: This is NOT a derby. You people need to learn what a derby is. A derby is a match between two teams from the same city or area (in the Netherlands for example: FC Twente Enschede vs. Heracles Almelo as derby from the east, Go Ahead Eagles Deventer vs. PEC Zwolle as the Ijsselderby, FC Groningen vs. SC Heerenveen as the derby of the north). My favourite derby I was at in De Kuip was in 2003 in the Dutch semi-final of the cup where we won with 1-0 by a goal from Paul Bosvelt. The most beautiful Klassiekers I have seen are the 4-2 in with Guidetti his hattrick since it was the first season I could not go to the stadium after being present for many years before. Also the cupmatch against them where we won with 1-0 by an own goal of Veltman and the 6-0 from last season both at home where great ones. About Ajax fans most of them al gloryhunters. I know several guys who support them when they win, but when they lose they suddenly just like the game of football. With Feyenoord nowadays this shit happens too sadly due to social media (people act they are Feyenoord but when bad times come around suddenly you do not hear them too, just what the regular Ajax fan is for many years already). The hate towards them is not because they won many trophies, it is because they are arrogant, cocky and loudmouths. Ask yourself this: In The Netherlands Feyenoord is hated by NAC Breda, FC Twente and Ajax Amsterdam (FC Utrecht recently too because they like to play with the big guys but can compete... and this is not just pitch related). Ajax on the other hand is mainly hated by Feyenoord Rotterdam, PSV Eindhoven, FC Utrecht (mainly oldschool, nowadays Utrecht pretend to hate Feyenoord more), FC Den Haag/ADO Den Haag, FC Groningen, Go Ahead Eagles and even many from other countries. Our homeground did not change many times, whoever told him spreads fake news. We moved one time because the stadium was built. Ajax moved 3 times atleast. They had Het Olympisch stadion (this stadium is still in use but mostly for benefit matches from the SuriProfs or old Ajax players versus whoever they play) and De Meer (later they build their current stadium and where Ajax' stadium was a disaster happend where a plane crashed into the housing projects that were there. You can search up 'Bijlmermeer ramp'). Most famous Klassieker on the pitch is probally the 8-2 win for Ajax on Feyenoord because Johan Cruijff moved to Feyenoord because he was pissed Ajax did not what he wanted. At home we lost too I think but we did won the league title that year. Another famous klassieker for the more fanatic fanbase is the one in 2005 where heavy riots broke out. Ajax was hold in a section outside the stadium, as usual being loud mouths and Feyenoord tried to reach them but police had to protect them (again) and police fought for their lifes to keep the two sets of fans seperated. A year later around 1000 fans got arrested on a bridge, no matter who you were you got arrested (there were elderly, kids, pregnant women etc.). Also for those idiots who do not now how harbours work: You become the biggest harbour based on amount of goods that are send/received via your harbour. Offcourse we lose from the Chinese, a country that has cities with more citizens than we have in our biggest city. We still the biggest harbour in Europe. That guy from Ajax is also delusional. We are not busy with them, you can check any Feyenoord related social media account if we lose something like a final and the comments start to flood with comments from Ajax fans, over and over again. And also back to the hate part: Ajax nicknamed themself 'Jews'. Other teams can't replicate that because they are 'bought' at a young age to play for the 3 biggest teams. In 1988 Van Basten, Wouters, Van Breukelen, Vanenburg all came from Utrecht. The both Koemans (Ronald an Erwin) came from Groningen. Van Aerle came from Helmond (Eindhoven) Van Tichelen came from Rotterdam. Muhren came from Volendam. The only players from Amsterdam were Gullit, Bosman and Rijkaaard. And yes, the 'culture of both clubs are very different. I'm a fan of FC Utrecht, but they have the same 'culture' as Feyenoord. I know my club will not win the Championship because of money. But Feyenoord is the team most like it. I support Feyenoord and go to their games if possible. AJAX are just arrogant and think they are the best, wich they are NOT. So, when Liverpool chose Arne Slot. I was proud! Ps: Mols and Kuyt were also Utrecht players and wentv o the right club and later to Scotland and England.

Every club has their upsides and downsides. Ajax where masters of Europe despite having a lower budget then bigger clubs. But yes they can be arrogant Feyenoord fans love their team with passion. But the passion turns to hate against Ajax. People here joke that Feyenoord fans still are happy after a weekend after a loss if Ajax also loses. And thats a little sad. Psv is stable but is also a little boring. AZ and FC Twente are the talented little brothers but always will be small.

Amsterdam is not a pro monarchy city at all, the "royal palace" is actually former city hall build at the height of the Dutch Republic appropriated by the French king Louis Napoleon in the very early 1800's. Amsterdam has been very hostile to the monarchy as late as the 1980's. The idea, the self image, of Feyenoord being a club of workhorses is actually quite recent. It's born out of the technical poverty of the struggling era from the 80's to the late 2010's. Working hard was the only thing the cheaper players could do, while Ajax was massively punching above it's weight in Europe with great young very skillfull players and innovative tactics. So because Ajax was technical and skillfull, Feyenoord had to be something very different. Feyenoord as well has the whole of Rotterdam has a self image issue. It let's itsefl being defined by not being Amsterdam and Ajax. It's a bit forced and they are selling themselves short while being frustrated. They are not chill enough about the rivalry at any level. Also the not hardcore supporters can start foaming at the mouth for mentioning Amsterdam. It's living rent free in their heads and I believe a fascinating city with a unique history like Rotterdam deserves more self respect by lightening up a bit.
