Great reaction. You pointed out things that most Reactioners never mention. Haley has a very big range, apparently over 3 octaves. Within that total range her actual belting range compared with so many other singers is very high indeed. You also pointed out the most distinctive feature of her singing, her control of different tones and colours of her voice, and how she can switch from one to the other. This is a hugely important aspect of what makes her so unique and most easily recognisable of all singers today. There is absolutely nothing generic about Haley's singing. She is an absolute one-off. a lot could be said of her runs and other vocal ornaments but I realise you canna go on at too great a length, unfortunately!

I enjoy your reactions. PMJ was on tour and Haley was sick. Scott convinced her to do this and they got it in one take. Apparently Haley was dissatisfied with her performance, but Scott assured her it was wonderful.

I read out there that Haley was feeling sick that day, and she thought the recording would not go well. Sott, the pianist, convinced her to try and here is the result. The first and only shot. Audio and video together. (from Spanish using Google translator).

Of course her vocals are amazing, But as a guy who a lifetime ago (back in the 70's) was a fairly serious jazz trombonist as a teenager I really appreciate the understated horn section in this piece. (And I couldn't help noticing the trombonist subtly emptying his spit valve when they got to the quiet piano section near the end. Trust me, that's an issue with trombone.)

I've been a fan of your reactions since you followed Angelica Hale...now I've seen a few reactions to Haley Reinhart. I think you do a great job, but I couldn't find any of your reactions to Pentatonix, an acapella group that's been around for 10 years. I have this pet peeve that too many contemporary singers over use vibrato in place of pure tones. Haley does not do this.
