Al graduated from high school at 16 and has a degree in architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo so he is very intelligent . The other thing to remember about him is that he does have his own band and all the different styles of music shows how good he is lyrically and the band is as musicians they are extremely tight. I have seen him actually singing a song straight at a concert honoring George Harrison's music so he really loves music as much as comedy.

I watched an interview that he did and he said he gets permission from the artists before he makes these songs, even though legally he's not required to. I thought that was very respectful of him.
@NdxtremePro4 жыл бұрын
So, he does ask, but he will release the song without permission. He will use his fan base to pressure the original artist. He did this with Lady Gaga's song, and Coolio also said he didn't give him permission for Gangsta Paradise at first. Coolio later said that was a mistake on his part, and Lady Gaga claimed it was her studio that didn't agree, but those events did happen.
@fightingfaerie4 жыл бұрын
@@NdxtremePro No. Coolio did give permission, and then when he didn't like it tried to take it back. And Weird Al is the one who got screwed in the "Gaga Saga". He left a family vacation early to record the song because "she" demanded to actually hear it. (Even though its her song, all he's changing is the lyrics, which he had already sent over) And then after all of this, they said no. So of course he's pissed and now he has a song and nothing to do with it. So he released it for free. He was going to send a portion of the proceeds to a LGBT+ charity she supported. He doesn't "use his fan base to pressure artists". If that was so we would've forced Prince to let Weird Al to use one of his songs. So Fuck off
@SpearM30644 жыл бұрын
@@NdxtremePro Wrong. He doesn't even *write* the song until he has permission, because without permission it's a waste of his time. When it comes to releasing songs, he has been known to engage in "malicious compliance". For example, he had permission from James Blunt to do a parody of "You're Beautiful". But when he tried to release "You're Pitiful", Blunt's *record label* told him "you can't sell that." So he decided "if they won't let me sell it, I'll just give it away for free." You can still download it in MP3 format from his website. You're right, Coolio didn't give permission at first... it was Coolio's *record label* that gave permission, without telling Coolio. But they eventually put it behind them at an awards ceremony. As for Lady Gaga, it was her *manager* who told him that "she" demanded to hear it, so he left a family vacation early to record the song, and was then told that "she" said "No". When she found out that her manager never even told her that Weird Al had called, she fired her manager for it. (Yes, it *was* Weird Al's fans that brought it to her attention, but they didn't have to "pressure" her. She admits that she's a fan of Weird Al too!) It was the Lady Gaga situation that finally convinced Al that when he asks for permission, he will *never* take anyone's word for it unless he hears it directly from the artist, because middlemen might screw him over like Gaga's (former) manager did.
@toomanyaccounts4 жыл бұрын
@@SpearM3064 Al got rightfully pissed at The Lady Gaga situation since he followed all the demands that he thought were coming from Lady Gaga such as lyrics being sent then to hear it. so he released the song on the net and when Lady Gaga heard word came she had no idea and that it was the managers fault and she apologized to AL hence why he was able to make a music video and officially release the song.
