Pretty impresive I have to say. I'm also studying aerospace engineering in Stuttgart and I was considering making something like this just for fun. However i was thinking about something more like this: The Cubli: a cube that can jump up, balance, and 'walk' I have experience dealing with control algorithms and inertial stuff, since I programmed a controller for a quadcopter, however I still remember what a pain was to adjust the fucking PIDs... (i dunno matlab and I did it using semi.empirical mathods) Could I contact you for asking the mathematical details about the control loop??

The Platform weights approximately 2.5kg, the Reaction Wheels 19gr Ratio is 1-132

Grübel Dimitri Is that a fixed ratio, or does it depend on the distance of the wheels to center of mass or other factors? Like, if you'd use it in a 132 ton spacecraft, would the momentum wheels have to weigh 1 ton?

Selmokk It's a fixed ratio. The weight of the momentum wheels ( and the ration) also depends on the possible speed of the motors.

omar bouamama If you use a brushless motor controller for boats (airplane controller con go also n both directions, but you can't do both directions simultaneously), the manual explains how you set up both directions with a remote. The procedure is different for every controller an is always described in the manual! Just read the manual of your controller.
